What you’ll be responsible for
Daily Leadership & Work Coordination
Work Assignment & Prioritization
Lead start-of-shift coordination. Review priorities, assign daily work and confirm tasks, deadlines, safety requirements and quality expectations. Monitor progress, labour coverage and changing shop or project needs; rebalance assignments and escalate capacity or schedule constraints to the Supply Chain Manager. Provide hands-on guidance, task training, coaching and operational support. Communicate meeting priorities, constraints and follow-up actions. Perform warehouse duties and provide coverage during absences, peak workloads or changing production requirements.
Accountability & Escalation
Coordinate daily execution within established priorities, procedures and standards. Verify work is completed safely, accurately and on time. Stop or correct work that presents an immediate safety, quality, traceability or material-control concern. Provide task-level coaching and daily feedback. Escalate formal employee matters, recurring performance concerns, attendance issues, staffing needs and policy exceptions to the Supply Chain Manager. Escalate unresolved operational constraints, inventory variances, material shortages, schedule risks and quality concerns to the appropriate leader.
Warehouse, Yard & Material Flow
Receiving, Storage & Material Movement
Coordinate receiving, inspection, identification, labelling, storage, picking, staging, kitting, internal delivery, returns, transfers and shipping. Ensure incoming materials are accurately received, identified, documented and placed in the correct storage location. Verify stock movements, material requests, transfers, picks and returns have the required approvals, documentation and system transactions. Coordinate staging, kitting and delivery to support project, fabrication and shop-floor priorities.
Shipping & Yard Coordination
Coordinate preparation, packaging, preservation, documentation and shipment of loose equipment and materials for completed client projects. Coordinate safe loading and unloading, and verify correct use of forklifts, lifting equipment and material-handling practices. Coordinate yard waste, recycling, pallet bins and related services while maintaining an organized yard and warehouse.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Safe & Compliant Operations
Maintain a safe, clean, organized warehouse and yard. Reinforce health, safety, quality, housekeeping and 8S requirements. Verify complete, accurate receiving, shipping, quality, traceability and inventory documentation and retain it as required. Identify and promptly escalate safety incidents, damaged materials, non-conformances, traceability concerns and procedural deviations. Promote Startec’s Core Values, vision, mission, Code of Ethics, policies, procedures, operating instructions and standards.
Inventory Control & Continuous Improvement
Inventory Accuracy & Material Control
Support inventory accuracy with cycle counts, stock checks, location audits, replenishment and variance investigations. Support material identification, location control, traceability and accurate inventory transactions. Identify damaged, obsolete, excess, slow-moving or surplus materials and report findings for review and disposition.
Process Improvement
Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean and 8S initiatives. Recommend improvements to warehouse processes, layout, safety, inventory accuracy and material flow. Help implement approved process, system and warehouse controls.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Operational Coordination
Liaise with Supply Chain, Procurement, Production, Engineering, Project Management, Quality and Logistics to resolve material requirements and priorities. Attend production and operational meetings as required; report material status, warehouse constraints and follow-up actions.
