Founded in 2005, State Group Automation (SGA) is a leading provider of turnkey automation solutions, specializing in the design, engineering, commissioning, and support of advanced robotic systems. What You Will Do

Promote and comply with all safety standards.
Collaborate effectively with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Support electrical and software design as needed.
Optimize cycle times and improve throughput.
Maintain customer relationships.
Assist with electrical and software design when required.
Start-up, debugging, and troubleshooting of PLC Controls automation equipment at the Build Shop and customer's site.
Throughput enhancement at the customer's site.

What You Need To Join Our Team

2+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer.
Strong knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.
Experience with Automotive, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing industries.
Previous Amazon project experience is considered an asset.
Siemens/TIA Portal or Allen Bradley Experience.
Extensive commissioning experience.
Ability to travel to customer sites across Canada and the USA.
Valid passport and driver’s license.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada or qualify for work authorization under the CUSMA Professionals category. We are unable to support immigration pathways outside the CUSMA process for this position.

Responsibilities

Commission, start up, debug, and troubleshoot PLC-controlled automation equipment at the build shop and customer sites. Collaborate with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders to support electrical and software design, improve cycle times and throughput, and maintain customer relationships while following safety standards.

Requirements

Requires at least two years of Controls Engineer experience, strong PLC and HMI knowledge, and extensive commissioning experience, preferably in automotive, supply chain, or manufacturing environments. Candidates need Siemens TIA Portal or Allen-Bradley experience, a valid passport and driver’s license, the ability to travel across Canada and the United States, and Canadian work eligibility or eligibility under the CUSMA Professionals category.
