Original job description

At Steele Auto Group, work is more than a job. It is a chance to inspire positive impact through every interaction, every vehicle, every journey. Our people are at the heart of it all, because everything we do is driven by you. Your passion. Your purpose. Your potential.

Steele Ford Lincoln is looking for a Commercial Sales Representative to join our team!

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys creating new business opportunities and building lasting connections within the local business community. Rather than relying solely on traditional dealership traffic, you’ll take a proactive approach to connecting with small businesses, contractors, trades, and other commercial customers throughout Halifax and surrounding areas.

You’ll help customers find commercial vehicle solutions that fit their business, including Ford Super Duty and Transit vehicles, while developing a network of clients who see you as their go-to resource for their commercial vehicle needs. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys prospecting, networking, getting out into the community, and turning new connections into long-term business relationships.

Wage:

This is a fully commissioned role, with the potential to earn $100K+ a year
For up to the first 3 months of employment, you will have a minimum income guarantee of $610/week, unless commissions exceed

The Steele Advantage

At Steele Auto Group, we believe in investing in our people and providing opportunities to grow. Depending on eligibility, our Total Rewards package includes:

100% Matched Retirement Savings Plan – Plan for your future with employer matching, up to 4% after three months and up to 5% after five years.
Flexible Health & Dental Plans – Choose from six cost-shared plans to find coverage that suits you and your family.
Mental Health & Wellness Support – Access 24/7 confidential support for you and your family through our Employee and Family Assistance Program.
Employee Discounts – Enjoy savings on vehicle purchases, parts, and service at our locations.
Access to Steele University – Build your skills through engaging, role-specific training, learn anytime and anywhere, track your progress, and earn rewards as you grow.

How You Will Make an Impact

Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities with small businesses, contractors, trades, and other commercial customers throughout Halifax and surrounding areas.
Build relationships with business owners by understanding their operations and recommending commercial vehicles that suit their individual needs.
Generate new opportunities through prospecting, outbound calls, business visits, referrals, networking, and industry events.
Become a trusted resource for customers looking for Ford commercial vehicle solutions, including Super Duty and Transit models.
Work with customers and local upfitters to coordinate solutions such as utility bodies, ladder racks, dump bodies, and van shelving when required.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective commercial customers while developing lasting relationships that encourage repeat and referral business.
Guide customers through available finance, leasing, and commercial purchasing options based on their needs.
Maintain accurate customer and sales activity within the dealership’s CRM system.
Collaborate with the sales team and dealership leadership to identify opportunities to expand Steele Ford Lincoln’s commercial customer base.

What Drives Your Success

You’re a natural relationship builder who is comfortable starting conversations and developing connections with business owners.
You enjoy business development and prospecting and are motivated by creating opportunities rather than waiting for customers to come to you.
You are comfortable making outbound calls, visiting businesses, attending networking events, and representing Steele Ford Lincoln within the local business community.
You bring previous experience in sales, business development, account management, or another relationship-focused role.
Previous experience in automotive, commercial vehicles, construction, equipment, transportation, or B2B sales is considered an asset.
You are confident learning commercial vehicle specifications and translating that knowledge into practical solutions for customers.
You bring strong communication, negotiation, organization, and customer service skills.
You are self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable managing your own pipeline of prospective customers.
You are comfortable using CRM systems and technology to manage leads, opportunities, and customer relationships.
You hold a valid Nova Scotia driver’s license.
