The Position

Clean Start is a Social Enterprise of Stella’s Circle that offers commercial cleaning solutions by providing opportunities to individuals experiencing barriers to employment. We do this through the delivery of cleaning contracts for our customers and organizations within St. John’s and greater metro area. We are currently seeking a Social Enterprise Cleaning Team Lead to join our team.

Under the direction of the Business Development Manager, you will provide onsite guidance and support to participants in various commercial settings. Using a hands-on and caring approach, you will collaborate with participants and their employment supports to help develop skills in cleaning and other general employment areas. This is a unique opportunity to lead others and the community. With a continuous improvement and learning mindset, overseeing customer care while mentoring and helping people develop employment and other life skills, our Social Enterprise and impact will continue to grow.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities will include:

• Maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
• Teach participants proper and safe performance of their job duties through hands-on instruction and role modeling.
• Assign and provide clear instruction of work to be performed to all team members and provide technical knowledge to ensure completion of tasks.
• Provide constructive performance related feedback to participants.
• Ensure jobs are completed on time in a cost-effective manner.
• Maintain a high level of quality and customer service.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with customers and participants.

What You’ll Bring

• High School diploma or equivalent. 
• Valid NL Driver’s Licence. Access to a vehicle is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.
• Leadership or coaching skills.
• Strong desire to make a difference and help others. 
• Valid First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain). 
• Knowledge and understanding of mental health barriers related to employment an asset. Standard and Mental Health First Aid will be provided.
• Experience performing cleaning/custodial work. Experience cleaning in the hotel/hospitality industry an asset.
• Fitness to Work Test may be required.
• Certificate of Conduct, Vulnerable Sector Check and Enhanced Reliability Status for the Government of Canada are required. 

The Details

This is a permanent part-time position with the possibility of moving to full-time hours. The hourly rate for this position is $19.42 - $20.21. We also offer shift premiums for hours worked during evenings and weekends and a monthly cell phone allowance. Stella’s Circle offers sick leave, personal leave and vacation leave.
