Original job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Engineer to support complex engineering projects by bridging the gap between Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and other key stakeholders. In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring equipment packages and subcontracted services are technically complete, accurately specified, and ready to meet project and production requirements. From developing technical purchasing specifications and scopes of work to supporting procurement activities and facilitating package readiness reviews, you will help drive alignment across multidisciplinary teams, manage critical deliverables, and ensure projects remain on schedule. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional with strong technical writing, coordination, and analytical skills, ideally with experience in heavy industry or a complex manufacturing environment. If this sounds like you please apply directly or send your resume to info@stellar-recruitment.com.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate Technical Purchasing Specifications (TPSs), Scopes of Work (SOWs), and supporting procurement documentation, ensuring technical requirements are accurately captured in contract documents.
  • Review purchasing specifications and design documentation to ensure alignment with engineering requirements, project objectives, and internal management plans while supporting RFPs and competitive bidding for complex and long-lead equipment packages.
  • Manage technical deliverables against project schedules, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, monitor progress, and escalate technical or schedule risks that could affect project outcomes.
  • Lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) ahead of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), ensuring readiness criteria are met, outstanding actions are addressed, and stakeholders are aligned.
  • Facilitate Cross Functional Reviews (CFRs) to identify subcontract components and required child parts, supporting production planning, material readiness, and configuration completeness.
  • Review and approve Shipping Configuration Lists (SCLs) to confirm package scope, configuration details, and supporting documentation are complete and aligned with procurement, engineering, and production requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 5–6 years of professional engineering experience, ideally within shipbuilding, maritime systems, complex manufacturing, or engineered equipment environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and review technical specifications, scopes of work, procedures, and procurement documentation with a high degree of accuracy and clarity.
  • Experience supporting procurement, tendering, RFP processes, technical evaluations, or the development of equipment and subcontract packages, with the ability to manage deliverables against project schedules.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to facilitate cross-functional reviews, communicate technical issues effectively, and drive action-item resolution across Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, and Quality teams.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required. Experience with FAT preparation, configuration management, material readiness, or production support is an asset.
