About Stellarex Energy
At Stellarex Energy, we are building foundational technology for the clean energy transition by harnessing stellarator fusion to provide safe, reliable, and carbon-free baseload power. Turning this ambitious physics and engineering goal into industrial reality requires an exceptional, mission-driven team. If you are ready to solve one of humanity's greatest technological challenges and build transformative hardware from the ground up, we invite you to join us in the Greater Toronto Area.
Role Overview
Stellarex Energy is seeking a detail-oriented, highly collaborative Technical Integration Engineer to join our Project Office in the Greater Toronto Area. In this critical role, you will serve as the central technical liaison across all engineering divisions - including Physics/Science, Superconducting Magnets, Vacuum Vessel & Cryogenics, Auxiliary Systems, and Plant Infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Project Team Leadership, you will manage 3D spatial integration, interface control documentation (ICDs), clash detection, and configuration management to ensure seamless system assembly and operational performance of our prototype stellarator facility.
Core Responsibilities
· 3D Spatial & CAD Integration: Maintain the master 3D spatial model and CAD assembly baseline for the stellarator device and supporting facility systems, performing continuous clash detection and space envelope management across multidisciplinary sub-systems.
· Interface Control Management: Define, document, and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) governing physical, thermal, electrical, vacuum, and optical boundaries between core plant divisions.
· Configuration & Change Control: Establish and enforce engineering change control protocols, tracking baseline revisions, design trade-offs, and technical risk registers throughout phase-gate reviews.
· Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the primary technical liaison between physics computational modeling, mechanical CAD designers, electrical/power engineers, and component fabricators to resolve inter-system interface conflicts.
· Design Review & Assembly Support: Support formal phase-gate design reviews and work closely with assembly teams during component procurement, factory acceptance testing, and physical site integration.
Required Qualifications & Experience
· Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
· Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, technical integration, spatial layout control, or complex multidisciplinary hardware integration projects.
· CAD & PLM Expertise: Proficiency with major 3D CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM/PDM) software suites (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, Windchill, or Teamcenter).
· Systems Engineering Skills: Demonstrated track record in developing Interface Control Documents, conducting clash detection, managing spatial envelopes, and leading engineering change processes.
· Domain Familiarity: Experience in regulated, high-precision, or heavy-industrial hardware environments (e.g., fusion, nuclear, aerospace, cryogenics, ultra-high vacuum, or medical accelerators) is strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Stellarex offers an industry-leading competitive base salary paired with meaningful company equity options, providing direct ownership in our long-term enterprise growth. We also provide comprehensive health and dental coverage, professional development support, and relocation assistance to the Greater Toronto Area.
How to Apply
Please submit your CV and cover letter to careers@stellarex.energy. Stellarex Energy is an equal opportunity employer committed to workforce diversity.
