What we offer

As the Manager, Transportation, you will own transportation strategy and execution across Stelumar’s supply chain, from inbound materials to the delivery of finished wall, floor, and roof panels, factory-built modular units, and interior cabinetry and millwork to job sites. This is a chance to build best-in-class transportation practices, lead a growing team, and help scale a highly automated manufacturer that is changing how Canada builds homes.

What you’ll do

Carrier Strategy & Sourcing

  • Own the transportation strategy for inbound materials and outbound products, including flatbed, white-glove, and over-sized freight.
  • Lead carrier sourcing, RFPs, contract negotiations, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Ensure capacity, service continuity, and cost competitiveness.

Costing & Financial Management

  • Own transportation budgets, costing models, and freight spend performance.
  • Evaluate in-house and outsourced transportation solutions and business cases.
  • Drive cost savings through optimization and planning initiatives.

Delivery Operations & Customer Commitments

  • Lead transportation planning and scheduling to support production and customer delivery commitments.
  • Oversee oversized load permitting, product protection, claims management, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and damage-free delivery execution.

Compliance, Safety & Performance

  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, permits, insurance, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor carrier performance through KPIs, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and develop the transportation team, establishing clear priorities and accountability.
  • Drive process, technology, and operational improvements to support business growth.

Other duties as required.

What you bring

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of transportation/logistics experience, including leadership responsibility.

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, permitting, compliance, and carrier management.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience building processes and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
