What You Bring to the Table
The Technician Instructor, Aerial is responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical instruction in the servicing and repair of aerial construction equipment, and for contributing to the development, review, and updating of learning materials. The incumbent prepares students for employment as aerial equipment technicians by delivering hands-on training using current industry practices, products, and equipment. Responsibilities include:
- Deliver theoretical and practical instruction related to the service and repair of Stephenson’s aerial equipment product line including scissor lifts, telehandlers, and booms.
- Instruct Aerial Academy students on OEM procedures, industry best practices, and specific to Stephenson’s fleet.
- Develop and deliver aerial equipment and related training courses to other Stephenson’s employees.
- Demonstrate proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, WHMIS requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Assess student performance through practical evaluations, demonstrations, and examinations.
- Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials with support from Learning & Development.
- Perform administrative tasks, including preparing evaluations and reports and providing feedback to service leadership on technician development.
- Support Quality Control Manager with inspections and improving safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe instructional environment.
- Assist with organizing manufacturing training for Operations teams.
What You Bring to the Table
- College Diploma in Heavy Equipment, 421A Heavy Equipment Red Seal, or equivalent training and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing aerial equipment.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in teaching or instruction.
- Valid G Class Driver’s License with clean abstract.
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications required. Experience with RMUI, WSS, TMS an asset.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
