Role Description The Mechanical Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Mississauga, ON. This position is responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment used in sterilization processes, ensuring safe and efficient facility operations. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting equipment, diagnosing mechanical issues, completing repairs, and documenting maintenance activities according to established procedures and regulatory standards. The Mechanical Technician will work closely with operations and engineering teams to support equipment reliability, participate in maintenance planning, and assist with equipment upgrades and installations. The role may also involve responding to equipment alarms, supporting root cause analysis for failures, and adhering to all safety and quality guidelines.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for industrial or processing equipment.
Candidates should possess skills in Preventive Maintenance and general Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting abilities to identify, analyze, and resolve mechanical and basic electrical issues.
Relevant experience in manufacturing, processing, or industrial facilities, preferably in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or related regulated environments.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications; familiarity with CMMS or maintenance tracking systems is an asset.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance, with the ability to follow SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work shifts or on-call schedules as needed.
Diploma, certificate, or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
