Automotive Technician

Duties

• Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles, including engine, transmission, brake systems, suspension, steering, and electrical components
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, schematics, and diagnostic software to identify issues accurately and efficiently
• Conduct maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid replacements, and filter changes to keep vehicles in optimal condition
• Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and industrial machinery when required for specific repair or maintenance tasks
• Repair or replace farm machinery components and industrial equipment to ensure operational safety and reliability
• Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting, welding, electrical work, and mechanical repairs to maintain a secure work environment
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair needs, timelines, and maintenance recommendations to enhance their experience

Experience

• Proven dealership or automotive repair shop experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repairs
• Hands-on experience working with heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm equipment is highly desirable
• Skilled in welding, electrical troubleshooting, schematics interpretation, and mechanical assembly
• Familiarity with HVAC systems related to vehicle climate control or industrial applications is advantageous
• Demonstrated ability to operate power tools safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients
