Job Summary

As part of the interdisciplinary team, the RPN is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient/family focused nursing care in accordance with the hospital’s philosophy, policies and standards of care, the College of Nurses (CNO) and all relevant legislation.

Qualifications And Experience

Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses (CNO) as a Registered Practical Nurse.
Current BCLS.
CC1 or commitment to complete within six (6) months of hire.
Medication course.
Management of Aggressive Behaviour or equivalent preferred.
Certificate in Gentle Persuasive Approach preferred.
Recent experience with inpatient medicine/surgery preferred.

Hours of Work: Available for all shifts including weekends and statutory holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide quality, patient- and family-focused nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team. Follow hospital policies and standards of care, College of Nurses requirements, and applicable legislation.

Requirements

Applicants must be registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses as a Registered Practical Nurse, hold current BCLS, and have completed a medication course. CC1 must be completed within six months of hire if not already held; recent inpatient medicine or surgery experience and several additional safety-related certificates are preferred.
