Job Summary

As part of the interdisciplinary team, the RPN is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient/family focused nursing care in accordance with the hospital’s philosophy, policies and standards of care, the College of Nurses (CNO) and all relevant legislation.

Qualifications And Experience

Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses (CNO) as a Registered Practical Nurse.
Current BCLS.
CC1 or commitment to complete within six (6) months of hire.
Medication course.
Management of Aggressive Behaviour or equivalent preferred.
Certificate in Gentle Persuasive Approach preferred.
Recent experience with inpatient medicine/surgery preferred.

Hours of Work: Available for all shifts including weekends and statutory holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide quality, patient- and family-focused nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team. Follow hospital policies and standards of care, College of Nurses requirements, and applicable legislation.

Requirements

Must be a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses and hold current BCLS and a medication course; CC1 is required or must be completed within six months of hire. Recent inpatient medicine or surgery experience is preferred, as are Management of Aggressive Behaviour training and a Gentle Persuasive Approach certificate.
