Library Assistant – Permanent Part-time

A world without limits in the heart of our community.

Stony Plain Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Library Assistant to join our team in a permanent part-time position.

Our mission is to connect the people of our community to the knowledge and cultures of the world, and to each other. SPPL truly is a community cornerstone, connecting residents, both new and established, with exceptional resources, meaningful relationships, and to our welcoming staff.

SPPL values barrier-free access, driving our decision to become a fine-free library in 2025. We also value accessibility and openness, intellectual freedom, diversity and collaboration, the individual's right to respect and courtesy, accountability and integrity, and excellence in service.

Our team is close-knit, supportive and respectful. When possible, we value giving staff opportunities to bring their whole selves to work, resulting in services and programs that reflect the diverse talents, skills and interests of our people. We value building, developing and growing staff in their careers. We also value being a part of the larger library community, and see the importance of collaboration, learning and sharing among our colleagues across Alberta.
