StorageMart has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Multiple Locations)

Job Description: As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the general and preventive maintenance of our branches to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for our customers and teams. This versatile position is ideal for an independent, reliable person with excellent manual dexterity.

Key Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
• Access Gate Troubleshooting: Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on the main entrance gates (basic knowledge of gate technology required).
• General Maintenance: Handle basic electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Carpentry and Structures: Perform light carpentry work and assemble metal structures.
• Painting: Prepare and paint a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces.
• Multi-Site Maintenance: Perform general preventive and corrective maintenance at multiple branches throughout the region.
• Grounds Maintenance and Housekeeping: Provide light landscaping, exterior cleaning, and housekeeping services.
• Seasonal Work: Actively participate in winter operations, including snow removal and de-icing of accessways.
• Building Cleaning: Sweep, vacuum, clean carpets, and thoroughly clean vacant spaces.
• Compliance and Training: Stay up to date on mandatory training, operational processes, procedures, and company policies.
• Communication: Regularly update the regional manager on the condition of the sites, repair needs, and any maintenance or safety issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Education: High school diploma (DES) or recognized equivalent.
• Experience: At least 1 year of relevant maintenance experience in a commercial setting.
• Personal Qualities: Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail are essential.
• Language Skills: Fluency in spoken and written French (required for the province of Quebec). Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Fluency in English is a plus.
• Computer Skills: Ability to use a computer and navigate internal software at a basic level.
• Personal Qualities: High degree of independence, versatility, and a strong sense of reliability.

Availability and Travel:
• Schedule: Flexibility required to work varying shifts (Monday through Sunday) as well as on holidays.
• Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to commute to and from work independently.
• Vehicle: Must have access to a vehicle at all times.
• License: Must hold a valid Quebec driver’s license, valid auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
• Mobility: Ability and willingness to travel frequently between different branches as needed by the company.

Physical requirements of the position:
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in extreme weather conditions or temperatures.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, squat, and climb stairs on a regular basis.
• Ability to safely climb and work on a ladder up to 10 feet high.
• Ability to walk or stand for up to 3 hours per day (approximately one-third of a normal shift).
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull loads weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Physical strength required to regularly handle specialized tools (bolt cutters, grinders, pressure washers, etc.).
• Willingness to perform light physical maintenance tasks (sweeping, mopping, window cleaning, mowing the lawn, shoveling snow, weeding).
• Ability to climb a ladder.

Fonctions et responsabilités principales (incluant, sans s'y limiter) :

Dépannage des barrières d'accès : Assurer la maintenance et le dépannage des barrières de l'entrée principale (connaissances de base de la technologie des barrières requises).
Maintenance générale : Prendre en charge les réparations de base en électricité et en plomberie.
Menuiserie et structures : Réaliser des travaux légers de menuiserie et d'assemblage de structures métalliques.
Peinture : Préparer et peindre une grande variété de surfaces intérieures et extérieures.
Entretien multi-sites : Assurer la maintenance générale préventive et corrective sur plusieurs succursales de la région.
Entretien des terrains et ménage : Offrir des services d'entretien paysager léger, de nettoyage extérieur et d'entretien ménager.
Travaux saisonniers : Participer activement aux opérations hivernales, notamment le déneigement et le déglaçage des accès.
Nettoyage des bâtiments : Effectuer le balayage, le passage de l'aspirateur, le nettoyage des tapis et le nettoyage complet des locaux vacants.
Conformité et formation : Rester à jour face aux formations obligatoires, aux processus opérationnels, aux procédures, et aux politiques de l'entreprise.
Communication : Informer régulièrement le directeur régional de l'état des sites, des besoins de réparation et de tout enjeu lié à la maintenance ou à la sécurité.

Qualifications et exigences :

Scolarité : Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) ou équivalence reconnue.
Expérience : Minimum de 1 an d'expérience pertinente en maintenance dans un environnement commercial.
Savoir-être : La fiabilité, la ponctualité et le souci du détail sont des critères essentiels.
Compétences linguistiques : Maîtrise du français à l'oral et à l'écrit (exigence pour la province de Québec). Capacité à communiquer de façon claire et efficace. La maîtrise de l'anglais est un atout.
Compétences informatiques : Capacité à utiliser un ordinateur et à naviguer sur les logiciels internes à un niveau de base.
Savoir-être : Grande autonomie, polyvalence et un sens aigu de la fiabilité.

Disponibilité et déplacements :

Horaire : Flexibilité requise pour travailler selon des horaires variés (du lundi au dimanche) ainsi que les jours fériés.
Transport : Disposer d'un moyen de transport fiable pour se rendre au travail et en revenir de manière autonome.
Véhicule : Accès requis à un véhicule entièrement immatriculé et assuré à des fins professionnelles pendant les heures de travail.
Permis : Détenir un permis de conduire valide au Québec, une assurance automobile conforme et un dossier de conduite acceptable.
Mobilité : Capacité et volonté de se déplacer fréquemment entre les différentes succursales selon les besoins de l'entreprise.

Exigences physiques du poste :

Capacité à travailler à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur, parfois dans des conditions climatiques ou des températures extrêmes.
Capacité à marcher, se tenir debout, se pencher, s'agenouiller, s'accroupir et monter des escaliers régulièrement.
Capacité à monter et travailler de façon sécuritaire sur une échelle allant jusqu'à 10 pieds.
Être en mesure de marcher ou de rester debout jusqu'à 3 heures par jour (environ un tiers d'un quart de travail normal).
Capacité à soulever, transporter, pousser ou tirer des charges pouvant aller jusqu'à 50 livres.
Force physique requise pour manipuler régulièrement des outils spécialisés (coupe-boulon, meuleuse, nettoyeur à haute pression, etc.).
Volonté d'effectuer des tâches d'entretien physique léger (balayage, passer la vadrouille, lavage de vitres, tonte de pelouse, pelletage de neige, arrachage de mauvaises herbes).
