Original job description

Our client, a quickly growing law firm, is looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join their growing team. This role would require someone proactive, who ideally has litigation experience and someone who is experienced in working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough legal research using various resources to support lawyers' case strategies and arguments
Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, memos, and correspondence under the guidance of lawyers
Organize and manage case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed, indexed, and readily accessible
Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, and court officials, answering inquiries, providing updates, and scheduling appointments
Maintain lawyers' calendars, scheduling meetings, court appearances, and deadlines.
File legal documents with courts and administrative agencies

Requirements:

2+ years of experience
A strong understanding of legal terminology
Solid computer skills
The ability to prioritize work and complete it promptly
Strong written and verbal communication skills for proficient correspondence
Familiarity with court registries to navigate legal procedures effectively
Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information
