Original job description

A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join its People & Culture team. This role will oversee full-cycle Canadian payroll, benefits administration, compliance, employee support, and payroll/HR system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Process multiple payroll cycles for salaried, hourly, and contract employees.
Manage payroll changes, deductions, bonuses, expenses, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Oversee benefits and retirement programs, including annual renewals.
Manage government remittances, year-end reporting, and Records of Employment.
Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries.
Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with Canadian payroll legislation.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system enhancements.

Requirements

5–10+ years of Canadian full-cycle payroll experience.
PCP designation required; CPM is an asset.
Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
Experience with payroll software; ADP is an asset.
Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and PivotTables.
Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
