Administrative Assistant – Temporary Assignment

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and dependable Administrative Assistant to support our client’s Head Office team in Delta, BC.

This is a hands-on administrative support assignment well suited to someone who enjoys organization, accuracy, routine, and being a reliable resource for others. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day administrative support while helping ensure the office operates smoothly and efficiently.

This is a temporary assignment paying $23/hour, with training scheduled for September 29th and coverage required on October 1st and 2nd.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and visitors and respond to general inquiries
Answer and direct incoming calls and correspondence
Process cheque deposits and apply Accounts Receivable payments in Steel Plus
Order and maintain office and warehouse supplies
Provide general administrative support to managers, sales representatives, and office staff
Coordinate couriers and receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and deliveries
Prepare and process expense reports for designated employees
Perform general clerical duties, including filing, scanning, photocopying, data entry, and document preparation
Maintain organized office records and filing systems
Assist with other administrative duties as required

Requirements

Minimum 3–5 years of experience working in an administrative or receptionist role
Post-secondary education is preferred
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Ability to work collaboratively within an office environment
Strong customer service and communication skills
Previous experience answering and directing incoming calls
Comfortable coordinating couriers, deliveries, and general office administration
