Original job description

About Us Suger helps B2B software companies sell through cloud marketplaces like AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle, Alibaba, and Snowflake - now one of the fastest-growing enterprise sales channels. Marketplace sales are operationally complex: pricing, contracting, billing, revenue recognition, and compliance all intersect across multiple cloud providers. Suger removes this complexity with an API-first revenue platform that powers quote-to-cash and marketplace workflows at scale. Launched in 2022, Suger works with over 250 B2B customers, ranging from large enterprises such as Snowflake and Intel to fast-growing startups such as Glean and Vanta. We’re a Series A company backed by Threshold VC, Craft Ventures, Intel Capital, and Y Combinator. We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Solutions to work directly at the intersection of product engineering and customer integrations. This is a hands-on, deeply technical role, not a support or pre-sales position. You’ll partner with engineering teams to design, build, and launch complex integrations on top of Suger’s platform, while also shaping internal systems, APIs, and tooling to make those integrations scalable and reliable. As we expand Suger with AI-powered agents and infrastructure, this role will increasingly focus on automating and optimizing workflows across pricing, contracting, billing, and compliance. This role is ideal for a Senior Software Engineer - Solutions who: • Enjoys owning ambiguous, high-impact integration and systems problems • Is excited by complex distributed systems and real-world enterprise workflows • Wants to apply AI-driven automation to production revenue operations, not demos • Is comfortable working directly with customers to design and deliver robust solutions • Balances deep technical execution with clear, confident communication We work in a hybrid model with 4 days per week in our Downtown Vancouver office. In this role, you'll: Work directly with customers to understand technical requirements and map workflows to Suger’s APIs, integrations, and AI-powered automation. Lead technical discovery, demos, walkthroughs, and AI-enabled proof-of-concepts, helping customers understand how intelligent workflows fit into their systems. Troubleshoot API issues, investigate logs, validate configurations, and support escalations across both traditional services and AI-backed components. Collaborate with the Engineering team to reproduce issues, debug complex systems, and ensure clear technical handoffs. Partner with Product and Customer Success to surface customer needs, especially around AI reliability, explainability, and automation, and influence the roadmap. Create and maintain technical documentation, playbooks, and sample code for APIs, integrations, and AI-powered workflows. Translate complex technical and AI-related concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences. Support the Sales Team by aligning on technical details throughout the deal cycle, including positioning AI-driven value in customer conversations. We're seeking someone with experience including: 2+ years in a Software Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar technical customer-facing role. Ability to read and write code (JavaScript, Python, Go preferred, or similar). Experience debugging backend systems, APIs, or cloud-based applications. Strong communication skills with professional English proficiency, and the ability to explain technical problems and solutions clearly and pragmatically. Comfort working directly with enterprise engineering teams and business stakeholders. Experience supporting both B2B pre-sales and post-sales technical activities. Interest in or experience with AI-enabled systems, such as automation platforms, AI agents, or LLM-backed services (hands-on ML experience not required). Bonus: exposure to cloud marketplaces, SaaS billing, metering, revenue platforms, or workflow automation systems. Why Join Us Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000 CAD/year. Competitive compensation and equity plan. Work alongside a top-notch product and engineering team with experience at Google, Meta, Salesforce, Pave, Motive, and Square - building AI agent and AI infrastructure SaaS at scale. Own a major pillar of our go-to-market strategy from day one, with the autonomy to shape how customers adopt Suger’s platform and AI-powered workflows. Full healthcare benefits - extended health care, dental, vision, and life insurance. Monthly office stipends for lunch and commute-related benefits. Fast-moving, flat org structure with real product-market fit and big ambitions where you’ll ship quickly and see direct customer impact.
