Role Description The Senior Business Development Manager role is a full-time, hybrid position based in AB. This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strategic relationships with key stakeholders, and expanding Sunco’s presence in telecom and managed IT markets. Day-to-day tasks include prospecting and qualifying leads, conducting client needs assessments, preparing proposals and presentations, and negotiating contracts that align with client objectives and company goals. The Senior Business Development Manager collaborates with internal technical and account teams to design tailored solutions, supports the transition from sales to delivery, and monitors account performance to encourage retention and growth. This role also involves contributing to sales forecasting, market analysis, and the continuous improvement of business development processes and sales strategies.

Qualifications

Strong business development and sales skills, including prospecting, lead qualification, pipeline management, and contract negotiation.
Experience with telecommunications, cloud services, networking, and managed IT solutions, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value.
Strategic account management skills, including relationship building, stakeholder engagement, and long-term client partnership development.
Competence in market research, competitive analysis, and developing data-driven go-to-market and growth strategies.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage executive-level decision makers.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (sales, technical, operations) and to drive complex solution-based sales cycles.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment, ideally within telecom or IT services.
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, IT, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple opportunities and projects.
Experience using CRM systems and basic proficiency with productivity tools (e.g., Office 365, collaboration platforms).
