Suncorp Valuations is seeking a hands-on Manager, Finance & Accounting who combines strong accounting fundamentals with analytical curiosity, people leadership, and a desire to help improve how an organization operates.

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead our Finance team while remaining actively involved in accounting operations, financial reporting, and analysis.
Your first priority will be to develop a strong understanding of Suncorp's business, people, systems and financial processes while assuming ownership of the day-to-day Finance function.
As you become established, you'll partner with leaders across the organization to translate financial and operational data into meaningful insights, identify opportunities for improvement, and support stronger business outcomes.
You'll also help develop a capable Finance team through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
Success in this role means becoming a strategic Finance leader who ensures the numbers are accurate and helps the business understand what they mean and what to do next.
What You'll Do
Lead the Finance and Accounting Operations
- Lead, coach, mentor and develop a small Finance team while remaining personally involved in accounting, reporting and analysis.
- Oversee day-to day accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Manage month-end and year-end close, audit, tax, and compliance activities.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance.
- Strengthen financial controls, processes, documentation, and team capability.
Turn Data into Business Insight
- Develop a strong understanding of how Suncorp operates and creates value.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and performance reporting.
- Identify the trends, risks, opportunities, and operational drivers behind financial results.
- Partner with leaders to understand performance and the financial impact of their decisions.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, practical insights.
- Develop reporting and performance measures that help the organization evaluate results.
Drive Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve the quality, accessibility and usefulness of financial and operational information.
- Build practical, data-informed approaches to performance measurement and decision-making.
- Collaborate across departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Evaluate whether changes are delivering meaningful results.
- Balance strong financial controls with a practical, business-focused approach.
What You’ll Need
- Progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience owning accounting processes, month-end activities, and financial reporting.
- Experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring others.
- A hands-on leadership style and willingness to remain actively involved in the work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with curiosity about what drives results.
- An interest in how the business operates beyond the Finance function.
- Confidence working with financial systems, data, and spreadsheets.
- The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
- Sound judgment, initiative, and a continuous improvement mindset.
You’ll Stand Out if You Have
- A CPA designation or progress toward a recognized accounting designation.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis or management reporting.
- Experience improving accounting processes, reporting or business systems.
- Exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency or Canadian/U.S. operations.
- Experience in professional services or another project-based business.
- Experience with business intelligence, data analysis or automation tools.

Hiring Range
$90,000 to $120,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capabilities. Exceptional candidates may be considered above the posted hiring range.

Working Arrangement
This position is based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and offers a hybrid work arrangement. A greater in-office presence is expected during onboarding to support collaboration, relationship-building, and knowledge transfer. As you become established, the arrangement may provide greater flexibility based on business and team needs.
