Job Description:

Location: One day per week in office (Thursday) at Montreal Metcalfe

Make an impact where it matters most!

At Sun Life, our clients are at the centre of everything we do. As a licensed Retirement Consultant, you'll play a key role in helping Canadians build confidence in their financial future while driving meaningful sales results.

On our Client Solutions team, you'll connect with Group Retirement Savings plan members over the phone, uncover their financial goals, and provide personalized retirement and wealth solutions that help them take action. Through consultative conversations, you'll identify opportunities to deepen client relationships, grow assets under management, and support clients in achieving their retirement objectives.

This is more than a sales role. It's an opportunity to combine your passion for helping people with your ability to influence, educate, and deliver solutions that make a real difference in clients' financial lives.

Why this role is special

This role focuses exclusively on existing Sun Life clients. You'll spend your time helping clients maximize their retirement savings and achieve their financial goals - without cold calling or prospecting for new clients. You'll have the opportunity to leverage your sales expertise while building long-term client relationships and delivering meaningful financial outcomes.

What you will do :

Build meaningful relationships with Group Retirement Savings plan members through proactive outbound and inbound client conversations.
Identify sales opportunities and recommend appropriate retirement and wealth solutions based on clients' goals, life stage, and financial needs.
Support clients through retirement planning discussions while helping them take action on investment and retirement recommendations.
Deliver a consultative sales experience that builds trust, strengthens client loyalty, and drives business growth.
Meet and exceed individual sales and client experience objectives.
Educate clients on retirement and investment concepts, simplifying complex financial matters into actionable solutions.
Stay informed on industry trends, products, planning strategies, and regulatory requirements to deliver relevant advice.
Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative sales culture that celebrates success and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for:

We're looking for individuals who are motivated by helping clients succeed and energized by achieving results.

Valid and active Life Insurance License (LLQP) or Insurance of Persons License in Quebec (PQAP)
Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required to answer calls from English and French speaking clients across Canada and worldwide.
Minimum 1-3 years of sales experience in financial services, wealth management, insurance, banking, or related industry, with experience providing financial advice and investment recommendations considered a strong asset.
Strong sales, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to build trust quickly, create meaningful client connections over the phone, and engage effectively with diverse clients.
Proven ability to uncover client needs and confidently recommend tailored solutions, with demonstrated success in achieving sales goals and influencing client decisions.
Self-motivated professional with strong time management and organizational skills, coupled with a growth mindset and passion for continuous learning and professional development.

Assets :

Completion of a college or university degree.
Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or Financial Planner designation (IQPF).
Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
Canadian Investment Funds Course (IFIC).

Why Join Sun Life :

Career growth & development – clear pathways and ongoing learning.
Inclusive culture – where diverse perspectives are valued and voices are heard.
Recognition & rewards – celebrating performance and impact, including a fully paid trip recognizing our Platinum performers.
Purpose-driven work – helping Canadians build financial security for life.
Comprehensive flexible benefits program including:
- Medical, dental, life, critical illness, and disability insurance.
- Robust defined contribution pension plan.
- Matching Stock Ownership and Savings Programs.
- Three weeks of paid vacation to start, increasing with service.
- Paid sabbatical leave every five years.
- Tuition assistance and licensing fees covered.

Sun Life offers a market-competitive total compensation package, including a base salary and variable incentives. This role is eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan with industry-leading incentive payout opportunities.

When a new position becomes available which matches your background and experience, the base pay range will be disclosed and correspond to the opportunity Sun Life will consider you for.

In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.

Diversity and inclusion have always been at the core of our values at Sun Life. A diverse workforce with wide perspectives and creative ideas benefits our Clients, the communities where we operate and all of us as colleagues. We welcome applications from qualified individuals from all backgrounds.

Persons with disabilities who need accommodation in the application process, or those needing job postings in an alternative format, may e-mail a request to thebrightside@sunlife.com.

We are proud to be a hybrid organization that offers our employees the choice and flexibility to work from both the office and virtually based on the needs of the business, our Clients and you.
