Responsibilities
Assess and prepare patients physically and psychologically before surgery, and provide postoperative assessment, discharge support, and assistance with mobilization. Teach patients about recovery and pain management while delivering person-centred care in collaboration with registered nurses and other team members.
Requirements
Requires current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, an RPN diploma, current BCLS certification, and at least 1–2 years of recent surgical experience. Candidates must also have completed physical assessment and medication administration courses, hold venipuncture and IV certification, and demonstrate strong clinical, organizational, computer, and communication skills.
