A major component of the role will involve working with large research datasets, including data ingestion, processing, cleaning, harmonization, management, quality control, and statistical analysis. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong programming skills, including proficiency in R and/or Python and experience working in Linux/Unix computing environments.
Neuroimaging, other medical imaging, or computer science experience would be an additional asset. Later phases of the research will examine brain aging using structural MRI, including brain age measures, with the potential to also investigate resting-state functional connectivity.
Responsibilities May Include But Are Not Limited To
- Developing and maintaining reproducible workflows for data ingestion, harmonization, quality control, and preparation of analysis-ready datasets across multiple studies and data modalities
- Writing, adapting, and running R, Python, MATLAB, or shell scripts for data cleaning, quality control, and database management
- Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and documentation for data management practices, to support reproducible research and continuity across projects/datasets
- Performing statistical analyses in R, Python, or MATLAB to support ongoing research projects
- Conducting database queries, extracting variables, and generating descriptive summaries from large research datasets
- Contributing to conference abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts
- Potentially assisting with neuroimaging data processing and analysis, depending on experience and project needs
- Completion of B.Sc. in the Life Sciences, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, combined with relevant research experience. Master’s an asset
- Experience with research data management, including organization, quality control, documentation, and harmonization of complex longitudinal datasets.
