Sunrise Farms is a group of companies with primary focus in the poultry industry.

From our hatcheries to our “ready to eat” state of the art cooking facilities we service customers in the retail, food service and industrial sectors. Role:

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Administrator provides essential clerical, administrative, and data entry support for our 600+ employee processing facility. This role focuses heavily on high-volume data entry in Ceridian Dayforce, managing employee records, tracking daily attendance, and handling plant-floor administrative requests. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced office environment.

\nResponsibilities

HRIS & PAYROLL DATA ADMINISTRATION

Coordinate data entry and timecards in Ceridian Dayforce, including profiles, punch cards, records, status changes, and termination paperwork.
Process absence requests, approvals, and medical agreements accurately.
Audit daily timesheets for unauthorized absences and update the vacation tracker.
Maintain and file all physical and electronic HR employee records, ensuring absolute data integrity, confidentiality, and organization.

RECRUITMENT LOGISTICS & PLANT ONBOARDING

Support high-volume hourly recruitment pipelines and schedule interviews.
Conduct day-one orientations, managing mandatory paperwork and onboarding assets.
Manage floor logistics, including lockers, swipe cards, and physical paystubs.
Coordinate with Production, Payroll, and Corporate HR for seamless shift coverage.

ATTENDANCE & OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

Track the plant's attendance management program.
Log the daily employee sick-line report every morning and update supervisors.
Communicate attendance thresholds to employees and prepare standard letters.
Support the open-door policy by handling basic inquiries and routing complex issues to the HR Manager.
Provide clerical support to OH&S and nursing teams for safety compliance.

Working Environment

Primary Location: Lethbridge, Alberta (3863 6 Ave N).
Facility Type: Administrative office located inside an active chicken slaughter and processing plant.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, standard office hours from 09:00 to 17:30.
Shift Duration: 8 hours of work per shift.
Commitment: Regular full-time role with 100% in-person attendance required (no remote work).
Flexibility: Requires extended hours during peak hiring seasons or critical production crunches.
Pace: Fast-paced environment managing high-volume, daily face-to-face inquiries from plant staff.
Interruptions: High-traffic office setting requiring strong focus despite frequent, walk-up disruptions.
Mobility: Involves intermittently leaving the desk to support plant-wide communication initiatives.
Plant Exposure: Occasional brief transitions onto the active production floor to interact with teams.
Safety Rules: Mandatory use of facility-provided PPE when entering the floor.
Surroundings: Potential exposure to ambient industrial plant noise and odours from the office area.
Logistics: Valid Driver's License required.

Requirements

Post-secondary education in Office Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
1–3 years of experience in a high-volume administrative role, data entry coordination, or clerical operations support.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a heavy focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and meeting rigid timelines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant employees, supervisors, and corporate management teams.
Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), shared network directories, and database management.
Direct experience with Ceridian Dayforce or similar enterprise HRIS and payroll software is a strong asset.
Knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards and basic workplace health and safety protocols.
Ability to problem-solve and provide practical administrative solutions in a dynamic, high-urgency manufacturing environment.
Accountable, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a collaborative and flexible approach to supporting production needs.
Prior administrative experience within manufacturing, food processing, warehousing, agriculture, or heavy industrial sectors.
Familiarity handling high-turnover shift schedules, punch card discrepancies, and complex attendance tracking programs.
Hands-on experience with specific Dayforce features like Time & Attendance, Workforce Management, or Employee Self-Service (ESS).
Proficiency with data manipulation tools (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data sorting) to manage our daily attendance trackers and sick-line reports efficiently.
Experience assisting with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) administrative tasks, Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) documentation, or tracking modified duties.
Fluency in Tagalog, Spanish, or other common languages spoken on our plant floor is highly preferred to support employee inquiries.
