Role Description
We are hiring Sidewalk Tractor and Small Loader Operators for winter snow and ice management in North York, Etobicoke and surrounding areas.
Operators will clear snow from sidewalks, entrances, access routes, and other designated areas while helping keep properties safe and accessible throughout the winter. This hands-on role requires careful equipment operation, attention to detail, and dependable attendance during snow and ice events.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate sidewalk tractors or small loaders and their snow-clearing attachments.
* Clear snow and apply salt, sand, or ice-melting products as directed.
* Follow site maps, service priorities, and supervisor instructions.
* Work carefully around pedestrians, vehicles, buildings, curbs, and other obstacles.
* Complete pre-shift equipment inspections and promptly report damage, mechanical issues, or hazards.
* Keep equipment clean, fuelled, and ready for service.
* Communicate site conditions and work progress with supervisors and crew members.
* Assist with hand shovelling and other winter maintenance tasks when required.
* Follow company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Qualifications
* Experience operating sidewalk tractors, compact loaders, skid steers, or similar equipment is preferred.
* Previous snow removal or winter maintenance experience is an asset.
* Ability to operate equipment carefully in tight spaces and challenging winter conditions.
* Reliable transportation and the ability to report for scheduled shifts and snow events.
* Availability for early mornings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as weather conditions require.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to perform outdoor physical work, including shovelling, lifting, bending, and walking on snow-covered surfaces.
* A valid driver’s licence and clean driving record are assets.
To apply, submit your résumé and include the equipment you have operated, your winter maintenance experience, and your availability.
