Original job description

About Super.com

We started Super.com to help maximize lives–both the lives of our customers and the lives of our employees– so that everyone can experience all that life has to offer. For our employees, our promise is that Super.com is more than just a job; it’s an opportunity to unlock one’s potential, where learning is celebrated and impact is realized.

We are more than a fast-paced, high-growth tech company; we care about our people and take career progression seriously. This is your career and our aim is to supercharge it through the people, the work, and the programs that fuel who we are.

About the Role

This role leads Finance Automation within Data Engineering. The team owns the financial data behind our general ledger, sales tax filing and month-end close: the dbt models, pipelines and NetSuite syncs that Accounting relies on to close the books accurately and on time. You’ll report to the Senior Manager, Data Engineering, and lead a team of five data and analytics engineers.

About the Team

This role is part of our Analytics & Data Science team. Being Data Driven is a core value of Super.com and this team plays a huge part in this. We are long time advocates and users of Snowflake, DBT & Amplitude. This isn’t a place where we are convincing the business the value of data, or just using these tools for the first time. We have maturity in our technical practices, launch a new experiment every day, and are looking for teammates to roll up their sleeves and do high quality data work.

What you'll be working on

Oversee a full-stack team of 5+ data engineers or analytics engineers. You will be responsible for the continued staffing of the team, including being a key contributor to hiring processes
Propel the business and engineering org forward by leading high-impact transformational projects end-to-end in an iterative, data-driven, startup environment
Shape the technical roadmap for the team, contribute to product roadmap and OKR discussions, and drive the engineering agile processes for the team
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and growth, ensuring team members excel with oversight and mentorship, are working on projects at the intersection of interest, experience, and business impact, and have concrete opportunities for growth
Drive high release quality and cadence by completing code reviews, ensuring end-to-end tests are written, and sustainable yet pragmatic development practices are followed
Strategically contribute technically - write important design docs, tackle particularly intricate components / features or services, jumping in as an individual contributor when appropriate

What we're looking for

5+ years experience as a data or analytics engineer and at least 2 year experience as a people leader
5+ years building production data pipelines and warehouse models, with strong SQL and working dbt proficiency. You can review a model and catch grain, fan-out and testing gaps
Experience owning financial data that Accounting depends on: GL feeds, month-end close, reconciliation, audit support, payment processing
Evidence of designing and implementing logical, well-architected solutions for complex, large-scale data engineering challenges
Deep experience in database design & warehouse data modeling, scheduling & orchestration
A track record of turning ambiguous stakeholder requests into scoped, estimated plans, and pushing back when capacity is short
Clear communication with both accountants and engineers

We've got you covered

At Super.com, we believe in supporting our team so they can thrive both at work and in life.

Remote-first flexibility: work from anywhere in the world and choose the hours that suit you best
Time to recharge: unlimited PTO, company-wide recharge days, and annual team offsites
Everyday perks: weekly UberEats credits and travel discounts on SuperTravel
Family-friendly benefits: generous parental leave and a flexible return-to-work plan
Comprehensive compensation: competitive salary, equity options, annual bonus, retirement matching, and full benefits from day one
Investing in you: wellness budgets, personal development funds, and team-level learning resources

At Super.com, we are proud to leverage cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology to make our hiring process smarter, faster, and more inclusive. By integrating AI tools into recruitment, we enhance our ability to identify top talent efficiently while promoting fairness and consistency for every applicant.

Super.com is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process. If needed, please notify your Talent Acquisition Partner.
