Job Summary
The Finance Director is a key leader within the Finance organization. This role oversees core financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and management reporting activities. The ideal candidate combines broad financial expertise and business acumen with disciplined organization, strong analytical capabilities, and clear executive communication. Success requires the ability to operate independently, lead through complexity, and support the company’s financial objectives in a dynamic environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders across the organization to align on financial performance, results, plans, risks, and opportunities.
- Use financial systems and data sources to prepare timely, accurate management reporting for business leaders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve financial analysis, reporting, and decision support.
- Present financial results and business insights to senior management on a regular and ad hoc basis, including key trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop clear presentations and reporting materials that communicate financial information and insights to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Six or more years of relevant finance experience
- Professional experience across one or more finance disciplines preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Experience leading a department, team, or functional area
- Advanced financial modeling skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office, financial consolidation tools, and enterprise financial systems required
- Demonstrated success designing, improving, and managing scalable processes
- Hands-on leadership style with a proven ability to drive results
- Demonstrated ability to advise business leaders on financial performance, planning, strategic priorities, and investment decisions
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate with senior leaders
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple commitments
- Solid values and high standards of ethics, integrity, and trust
- Ability to build effective partnerships with stakeholders across functions and levels of the company
- Ability to rapidly prepare decision-support analyses related to financial performance, planning, resource allocation, and business priorities
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in a complex, multi-unit, or growth-oriented organization preferred
- Executive presence
EDUCATION
- MBA or CPA highly preferred

DRUG FREE WORKPLACE CONSENT AGREEMENT
I understand that Surgery Partners has a policy to maintain a drug free workplace. In accordance with the Drug Free Workplace Policy, all prospective employees must successfully complete a drug screen urinalysis as a condition of employment. Further, current employees may also be required to submit to drug screening, as a condition of continued employment, as specified under the guidelines of the Drug Free Workplace Policy.
I hereby acknowledge that my submission to a drug screen urinalysis is a term of employment and will be administered at no cost to me. All medical information obtained as a result of this test will be classified as confidential with the exception of the positive or negative result. I understand that a positive drug screen result will preclude me from any further consideration of employment with Surgery Partners unless reapplication requirements are met within the terms specified in the Drug Free Workplace Program. I also understand that, once employed, a positive drug screen result may subject me to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
In consideration of the above information, I hereby agree to submit to a drug screen urinalysis and authorize the release of the results to representatives of Surgery Partners. Also, I hereby release directors, managers, officers, employees or other representatives of Surgery Partners from any liabilities, damages, judgments or causes of actions, including costs and attorney fees before trial, at trial or on appeal, that result from this policy or testing procedure as applied to me.
