- About the Role
At Surgo Studios, no two shoots are the same!
From podcasts and corporate videos to events, weddings, interviews, and creative productions, we’re always working on something different.
We’re looking for talented freelance videographers and photographers based in Ottawa to join our production roster and collaborate on upcoming projects.
- What We’re Looking For
- Professional videography and photography experience with a strong portfolio
- Experience shooting events, interviews, podcasts, and corporate content
- A creative eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling
- Strong technical knowledge of cameras, lighting, and audio
- Confidence working independently and directing people on camera
- Reliable, organized, adaptable, and great with people
- Ability to deliver organized footage and photos on time
- Flexible availability for project-based shoots
- Your Equipment
You’ll need your own professional production setup, including:
- Professional 4K camera
- Zoom and prime lenses
- Gimbal/stabilizer and tripod
- Professional audio equipment
- Photography flash
- Sufficient batteries and memory cards
Bonus: Additional cameras, professional lighting, drone certification, video editing skills, or access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities
Shoot video and photography for events, interviews, podcasts, corporate content, weddings, and other creative productions. Work independently, direct people on camera, and deliver organized footage and photos on time.
Requirements
Candidates should have professional videography and photography experience, a strong portfolio, and technical knowledge of cameras, lighting, and audio. They must bring their own professional production equipment and be reliable, organized, adaptable, comfortable working with people, and available for project-based shoots.
