Position Description
Surrey Place is seeking a Manager, Marketing to drive awareness, enrolment and revenue for our programs and services. Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, this role turns marketing strategy into measurable results: more of the right people finding Surrey Place, registering for programs and moving smoothly into service.
Program registration and enrolment is the primary focus of this role. The Manager works closely with clinical program leads and the registration and intake team and is accountable for marketing that fills program registrations. They lead an in-house team of two Marketing Coordinators and an Integrated Designer, oversee multi-channel campaigns from brief to results, and use data to decide where to invest time and budget.
This role partners with the Manager, Communications to keep marketing, communications and brand working as one, and supports business development and fundraising teams with the tools they need to grow revenue.
Main Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Growth
- Develop and deliver annual and campaign-level marketing plans that support B2C, B2B and fundraising revenue targets, with clear KPIs.
- Work with program leads to build awareness and demand for priority programs and services, including seasonal and new offerings.
- Manage digital advertising campaigns and budgets, optimizing for return on ad spend and cost per acquisition.
- Develop B2B sales enablement materials, such as pitch decks, case studies and one-pagers, in partnership with Business Development.
- Support fundraising efforts.
- Build referral pathways with educators, medical professionals and community partners.
- Manage the marketing budget and relationships with external agencies and vendors.
Registration & Conversion
- Own the marketing side of the registration path, working closely with IT, clinical teams and registration and intake staff to fill program registrations.
- In collaboration with IT, project management, data and clinical teams, map the client journey from first inquiry through registration and intake, and act on drop-off points.
- Build and manage automated email journeys in Dynamics 365, including welcome series, re-engagement flows and follow-ups for incomplete registrations.
- Grow and segment email audiences in line with CASL.
Data, Measurement & Insights
- Set the measurement framework for marketing: KPIs, baselines and targets tied to registration, revenue and awareness goals.
- Produce regular dashboards and campaign reports using Google Analytics, Dynamics 365 and paid media platforms.
- Translate results into clear recommendations for the Director, program leads and senior leadership.
- Run A/B tests and conversion analysis across web pages, landing pages, emails and registration forms.
- Partner with the Data Analytics and IT teams to connect marketing data with registration and intake data.
- Use insights to decide where to invest time and budget, and to retire tactics that aren't working.
Website & Digital Experience
- Oversee website and portal copy and branding, with a focus on conversion, lead generation and engagement.
- Lead SEO for priority service keywords and blog content, tracking organic rankings and traffic.
- Collaborate with IT on user experience, interface improvements and CRM integration.
Creative Services & Brand
- Oversee concept and production of creative assets, including digital and print design, photography, video and multimedia.
- Write creative briefs, set scope, timelines and resources, and manage vendors to deliver work on brand, on time and on budget.
- Act as brand steward, keeping creative consistent and maintaining an organized, up-to-date asset library and templates.
- Ensure all marketing materials meet AODA accessibility standards and reflect inclusive, plain-language, person-centred practice.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop a team of two Marketing Coordinators and an Integrated Designer, including work plans, regular check-ins and performance management.
- Manage team intake, priorities and workload so the team focuses on the highest-impact work.
- Participate in hiring and onboarding new team members.
- Build and maintain guidelines, workflows and process documents that help the team work efficiently.
- Partner with the Manager, Communications so marketing and communications plans are aligned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma or Certificate in a related field such as marketing, digital media or communications, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressive marketing experience and 2 years managing people.
- An understanding of marketing principles, with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of marketing channels.
- Proven track record of campaigns that drove measurable results, such as registrations, sales, leads or donations.
- Strong analytical skills: comfortable setting KPIs, building reports in Google Analytics (GA4) and turning data into decisions.
- Experience with paid digital advertising, SEO and conversion optimization, including A/B testing.
- Experience in creative direction for design, photography, video, web and multimedia, with a strong eye for brand consistency.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), WordPress CMS and Microsoft CRM (Dynamics 365 Marketing). Knowledge of Figma is an asset.
- Experience managing projects in tools such as Asana or Monday.com.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and guidelines pertaining to written and electronic materials, including copyright, privacy laws, CASL and AODA accessibility legislation.
- Sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and customer service skills with the ability to work collaboratively and professionally with staff, agencies and external contacts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening).
- Experience in the public sector, especially the developmental services or healthcare sector considered an asset.
- Experience marketing fee-based programs or services considered an asset
- Experience with B2B marketing or supporting fundraising campaigns considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Figma considered an asset.
- Confident, responsible use of AI tools to improve marketing efficiency and insight considered an asset.
- Fluency in French considered an asset.
