Original job description
You’ve mastered the fundamentals. You know how to pitch, manage media lists, deliver coverage, and keep programs moving. Now you’re ready for more - more strategy, more client leadership, more ownership.
Swerve is looking for a PR Account Manager who’s ready to step out of the Senior Specialist lane and into a more client-facing, strategic role within a fast-paced agency environment. If you thrive in agency life and want to help shape programs - not just execute them - this role is for you.
Agency experience is a MUST.
What You’ll Do
As a PR Account Manager at Swerve, you’ll lead day-to-day client relationships while driving smart, results-oriented PR programs.
Client & Program Leadership
- Own day-to-day client communications and account management
- Lead execution of PR programs while ensuring KPIs are met (and exceeded)
- Develop, track, and optimize program KPIs - flagging opportunities and course-correcting when needed
- Manage client budgets, ensuring work stays within scope and forecasting proactively
Strategy & Planning
- Develop thoughtful, tailored PR plans aligned to client goals and target audiences
- Lead and contribute to strategic brainstorms and planning sessions
- Stay ahead of industry trends to educate clients and internal teams
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor junior team members, ensuring high-quality support across accounts
- Review and oversee reporting (weekly coverage, monthly reports, wrap reports)
- Contribute to performance feedback, hiring, and team development
Media, Influencers & Execution
- Draft and edit media materials (press releases, briefing books, fact sheets, etc.)
- Build and maintain existing strong media relationships
- Lead and manage influencer programs, including FTC compliance, budgets, contracts, and deliverables
- Vet and manage third-party vendors (freelancers, creatives, production partners, etc.)
Agency Growth & Culture
- Participate in new business pitches and presentations
- Support awards submissions, case studies, and agency marketing materials
- Represent Swerve and clients at events and trade shows
- Contribute to agency social media as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 4–6+ years of PR experience, with agency experience required
- Currently a Senior PR Specialist or similar, ready to take on more strategic and client-facing responsibility
- Proven experience managing media relations and integrated PR programs
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience managing budgets, timelines, and junior team members
- Deep understanding of influencer marketing and FTC regulations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial agency environment
Our Values (a.k.a. How We Work)
At Swerve, we live our values every day:
- Solutions-Oriented: You focus on answers, not roadblocks
- Scrappy: You move fast, adapt quickly, and don’t wait for permission
- Committed: To your clients, your team, and the work
- Pride of Work: You care deeply about quality, creativity, and impact
Why Swerve?
We’re a collaborative agency where smart thinking, hustle, and creativity are valued. You’ll have real ownership, direct client exposure, and the chance to grow your career in a meaningful way.
