Original job description
Contract opportunity combining warehouse operations, reach-truck driving and accurate shipping and inventory administration for an Alberta public-sector organization.
- Fully onsite in Edmonton, five days per week.
- Full-time: 36.25 hours per week.
- Candidates must supply their own CSA-approved, steel-toed safety footwear.
What & Why:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Inventory Coordinator to support shipping, receiving, stock management and warehouse operations. You will handle orders and materials, including high-security and serialized products, while keeping shipment and inventory records accurate. The role combines physical warehouse duties with computer-based administration and requires safe equipment operation, reliable follow-through and strong attention to detail.
Who:
You will work with warehouse colleagues, customer-service staff and internal and external stakeholders to keep materials moving accurately and within established service levels. Your work will support order distribution, stock availability, inventory reconciliation and warehouse safety.
You:
You bring practical reach-truck experience and understand how to maintain an organized, safe warehouse. You can investigate quantity discrepancies, follow inventory controls and accurately record shipment details. You are comfortable switching between physical duties and administrative work, managing changing priorities and working both independently and as part of a team.
Critical Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year of reach-truck driving experience. Counterbalance forklift experience does not satisfy this requirement.
- At least two years of warehouse shipping and inventory-control experience, including cycle counts and computerized inventory reconciliation.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence in good standing.
- Ability to consistently lift 35 lb boxes and perform standing, lifting, bending and reaching duties safely.
- Own CSA-approved, steel-toed safety footwear, worn throughout warehouse duties from the first day.
- Valid reach-truck training and certification are preferred for selection and required before operating the reach truck.
Nice to Have:
- Valid reach-truck training and certification.
- Accurate typing speed of at least 35 WPM, supported by assessment results.
- One year using supply-chain software such as JD Edwards or Microsoft Dynamics GP.
- Two years of accurate data processing or data entry.
- One year using computerized inventory/shipping systems and online waybill platforms.
- One year safely operating equipment such as shrink wrappers, strappers and powered or manual pallet jacks.
- One year handling controlled serialized inventory or high-value products.
Compensation:
Hourly contract compensation will be discussed based on experience, engagement structure and alignment with the client’s requirements. Expense reimbursement is not available for this assignment.
