Contract opportunity for an experienced Systems Analyst supporting application development, systems analysis and implementation for a public-sector organization in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

- Expected contract term: October 19, 2026 to March 31, 2027.
- Full-time: 35 hours per week, seven hours per day.
What & Why:
Our client is seeking an experienced .NET Developer with strong systems analysis skills to support the assessment, design, implementation and ongoing operation of business systems. You will translate business needs into technical requirements, evaluate solution options, document systems and interfaces, and collaborate with developers to deliver practical solutions. The role may also involve production analysis, data conversion and improvements to technical procedures and standards.
Who:
You will work within Design & Delivery branch, collaborating with business stakeholders, developers and project teams. Your work will connect business requirements with the technical detail needed to design, implement and maintain effective systems.
You:
You bring hands-on .NET development experience alongside strong systems analysis, technical design and documentation skills. You are comfortable investigating how systems work, documenting detailed requirements and explaining design choices to stakeholders. You can move from business requirements into technical specifications, work through system and data dependencies, and support development teams through implementation.
Your background should demonstrate experience with systems requirements and design, technical documentation, collaboration with developers, and implementation or production support. When applying, highlight examples involving system interfaces, feasibility assessments, data structures, data conversions, testing approaches and production troubleshooting.
Critical Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience as a Systems Analyst.
Responsibilities:
Depending on project needs, your work may include:
- Prepare requirements, feasibility, cost, design and specification documents.
- Assess the technical and economic feasibility of proposed systems.
- Analyze functional requirements, information flows, procedures and decision flows.
- Recommend solution alternatives and document detailed systems designs.
- Define system interfaces, input/output requirements and operating environments.
- Document data structures, files, modules, batch and online processing, monitoring procedures and testing approaches.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Collaborate with developers on functional prototypes and operational systems.
- Support implementation and maintain technical procedures and standards.
- Advise on production performance, scalability, security and maintenance.
- Coordinate data mapping, mock conversions, conversion execution and data validation.
- Import and restructure data from different sources and formats.
- Contribute to work breakdown structures and project planning.
Compensation:
Hourly contract compensation will be discussed based on experience, engagement structure and alignment with the client’s requirements.
