Original job description

Content Designer (CMS & Content Platform), 12-Month Contract, Hybrid Toronto

I’m hiring a Content Designer for one of Canada’s Big 5 banks. The role sits on the team that owns the bank’s enterprise content management system, the platform behind its digital channels. This is a backfill for an internal promotion, so you’d be stepping into a proven role inside a content design practice that’s growing.

The job is equal parts content systems and enablement. You’d connect Experience Design, Digital Marketing, and Delivery, and help the people who build pages every day work faster with fewer defects.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with developers and designers to build new CMS modules and improve the Contentful platform
  • Bring CMS strategy into the design process early, so experiences are reusable, governed, and ready to build
  • Coach and onboard Content Authors, Digital Marketers, Content Designers, and Product Designers on the CMS and authoring best practices
  • Triage and troubleshoot questions in the CMS help channel, and escalate issues when needed
  • Write and maintain CMS documentation that people actually use
  • Find platform improvements by working with authors, design, and architecture teams

What you bring

  • 4+ years in content design, content strategy, or a UX-adjacent field
  • Hands-on experience with an enterprise CMS. Contentful is a plus; AEM, Sitecore, or similar platforms carry over well
  • Comfort reading HTML to diagnose content and formatting issues
  • Practical knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, AODA) as they apply to content
  • Experience training, onboarding, or writing documentation for non-technical users
  • Sharp eye for detail, and experience running or contributing to cross-functional workshops
  • A degree in Communications, Journalism, UX Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Instructional design, e-learning, or digital content backgrounds are welcome. Many strong people in this work came to it from there.

The details

  • 12-month contract
  • Hybrid, 2 days/week in downtown Toronto
  • 40/hr-55/hr (max t4 rate- 47/hr, max c2c rate- 55/hr)

Does this sound like you? Then apply ASAP!!!
