Original job description

Job Title: Factory Representative & Solutions Advisor

Reports to: General Manager

Are You Built for the Road and Driven by Client Success?

Are challenges your opportunities? Does solving problems, building relationships, and being face-to-face with clients energize you? SWS Warning Lights Inc. is looking for a Factory Representative who is ready to take our mission on the road.

This is not just a sales role. It is a chance to set the golden standard for client care, represent SWS in the field, and become a trusted advisor to the clients and industries we serve. We are looking for someone who is driven to learn, quick to listen, strong in communication, and motivated by the opportunity to help clients find the right solutions.

This role involves regular travel by car and air across Canada and into the United States. For the right person, that is not a drawback, it is part of the opportunity.

Who We Are Not Looking For

Someone who wants a mostly desk-based role with occasional client visits.
Someone who sees travel as an inconvenience instead of an opportunity.
Someone who waits for problems to arrive instead of getting ahead of them.
Someone who is only focused on transactions instead of long-term relationships.
Someone who talks more than they listen.

What You Will Actually Do

Travel regularly to meet clients in person and maintain a strong field presence.
Travel by car and air, as required, to support clients across Canada and into covered U.S. territories, depending on business needs.
Build strong relationships with clients through regular visits, active listening, and dependable follow-through.
Learn how clients work in the real world so you can better understand their equipment, pain points, expectations, and opportunities.
Recommend practical product solutions that fit their needs, operations, and goals.
Walk clients through SWS offerings and recommend the best option for their success.
Serve as a trusted advisor by helping clients work through technical questions, product concerns, troubleshooting and application challenges.
Bring valuable field intelligence back to SWS, including client feedback, competitor activity, market shifts, and emerging opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of visits, follow-ups, opportunities, and client insights in Hubspot CRM.
Help identify ways SWS can improve the client experience, strengthen offerings, and better support the industries we serve.
Support business development and lead generation efforts.
Participate in meetings, training, reporting, and KPI tracking with professionalism and accountability.
Collaborate closely with fellow Factory Representatives and cross-functional teams, sharing knowledge, client insights, opportunities, and feedback to support a consistent client experience and stronger business outcomes.
Actively participate in ongoing learning and development to strengthen product knowledge, industry expertise, sales capabilities, technical understanding, and both personal and professional growth.
Represent SWS with pride through your professionalism, preparation, communication, and presentation in the field.

The Ideal Candidate

Enjoys travel and values time in the field with clients.
Understands that in-person interaction builds stronger, more meaningful relationships.
Believes in a human, relationship-driven approach to sales - taking the time to understand the client, recommend what will genuinely set them up for success, and build long-term value rather than simply pursuing a transaction.
Communicates clearly, professionally, and with empathy.
Listens carefully and asks thoughtful questions.
Is proactive, resourceful, and dependable.
Can work independently while staying closely connected with the team.
Has the discipline to manage travel, territory activity, reporting, and follow-up effectively.
Takes pride in representing a company known for quality, reliability, and client care.
Is committed to continuous learning and constant improvement and willing and eager to participate in ongoing learning and personal development initiatives.

Why This Role Matters

Our clients work in demanding environments. They are on roadsides, in fleet yards, in fabrication shops and out where the work has to get done. They need more than a supplier. They need a partner who shows up, understands their world, and helps them move forward with confidence.

That is why this role matters. That is why travel matters. That is why field presence matters.

Because the golden standard for client care is not built remotely. It is built relationship by relationship, visit by visit.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means clients know you, trust you, and feel supported by you.

It means you are visible in the field. It means you stay close to the market. It means you notice what others miss. It means you help clients feel heard, valued, and confident in working with SWS.

This role is about more than selling products. It is about strengthening relationships, uncovering needs, solving problems, and making sure our clients experience the kind of service that sets SWS apart.

Why SWS

At SWS Warning Lights Inc., we are committed to being the golden standard for client care, technological innovation, and seamless reliability. We believe in helping clients, not just selling to them. We believe in listening before recommending. And we believe the best relationships are built through trust, consistency, and genuine support.

If you are energized by being on the road, building strong client relationships, and representing a company that cares deeply about doing things the right way, we want to hear from you. Send us your resume and a cover letter detailing how you embody our core values and mission to careers@warninglightsinc.com, our website or via Indeed.

Vacancy Status: This job posting is for an existing vacancy; we are actively hiring to fill this role now.

Compensation: From at $70,000 base salary, plus extended health benefits and the opportunity for a quarterly bonus.

Hiring Process & AI Use: We use standard applicant tracking systems and do not use artificial intelligence to screen applicants.

SWS Warning Lights Inc. is an equal opportunities employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
