At SWS Warning Lights Inc., our Process Coordinator helps turn ideas into better ways of working, improving efficiency, strengthening quality, solving production challenges, and capturing critical knowledge so our team can learn, repeat, and continuously improve.
Role Summary: As our Process Coordinator, you’ll analyze manufacturing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, create clear manufacturing documentation, support quality initiatives, troubleshoot production challenges, and help introduce new processes and technologies into our operation.
You’ll work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other teams to turn ideas into practical improvements on the manufacturing floor.
Your documentation will transfer knowledge. Your problem-solving will remove roadblocks. Your attention to detail will protect quality. And your improvements will help SWS manufacture smarter, more consistently, and more efficiently.

What This Role is NOT:
- Not a Desk-Only Role: If you want to analyze manufacturing from behind a screen without spending time where the work actually happens, this probably isn’t the role for you. You need to understand the process firsthand.
- Not Change for the Sake of Change: Process improvement isn’t about making things more complicated. Every improvement should have a reason, better quality, greater efficiency, clearer training, improved safety, increased capacity, or stronger consistency.
- Not a Lone-Wolf Position: You’ll bring ideas and technical knowledge to the table, but successful improvements require input from the people designing, building, testing, and supporting our products.
- Not Someone Who Hates Documentation: A great process isn’t truly scalable if nobody knows how to repeat it. Clear manufacturing instructions, records, drawings, and process documentation are a major part of this role.
What You’ll Do:
- Find Better Ways to Build: Continuously analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve productivity and cost-effectiveness.
- Turn Improvements into Action: Help develop and implement practical process improvements that make our manufacturing operation more efficient, reliable, and repeatable.
- Build the Playbook: Develop and maintain comprehensive manufacturing process documentation, operating instructions, and product instructions that support knowledge transfer and training.
- Strengthen Quality: Assist with developing and maintaining quality control systems that help ensure our products meet client expectations and industry standards. When something goes wrong, help identify the cause and support corrective action.
- Connect the Teams: Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to integrate new processes and technologies smoothly into our manufacturing environment.
- Get Hands-On with Equipment: Help maintain, calibrate, and verify the quality of a broad range of production machinery used throughout our operation.
- Design with Manufacturing in Mind: Provide input during the product design stage to help ensure products and processes can be manufactured effectively and consistently.
- Build Smarter Tools: Assist with the design, development, and maintenance of production build jigs, test jigs, and fixtures.
- Break the Bottlenecks: Conduct capacity and debottlenecking studies to identify constraints and uncover opportunities to improve production flow.
- Own the Details: Maintain accurate records of process improvements, project outcomes, progress, and results.
- Manage Engineering Changes: Help administer engineering changes for both new components and products already in production, ensuring changes are controlled and communicated effectively.
- Protect Design Accuracy: Maintain the engineering drawing database and help ensure manufacturing teams are working from accurate, current design documentation.
- Keep Learning: Continue developing your knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, technology, tools, and improvement methodologies so you can bring stronger solutions to the team.
What You Bring
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is important.
- A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and process optimization techniques, paired with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Post Secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience with tools such as CAD software, process simulation software, and data analysis tools.
- A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
