Our challenge
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with strong experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in core Java technologies, microservices architecture, REST APIs, and modern development frameworks. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Calgary, Alberta is CAD $90k - CAD$100k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality Java-based applications.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and QA teams to deliver robust solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
- Perform code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions.
- Develop integrations with third-party systems and enterprise platforms.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Support production environments and resolve critical application issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering
- Very strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- 7+ years of experience in Java development and 3+ years React
- Very strong knowledge of software design principles: MVC, data structures, graph data, algorithms, design patterns, multithreading, caching, recursion
- Strong knowledge of core Java: class loading, garbage collection, Java collections API, Reflections API
- Java 8 Streams and Functional Programming
- Strong knowledge of Non-Relational Databases and No-SQL (Mongo DB)
- Strong Knowledge of Relational Databases and SQL
