The successful applicant would help turn this investment into a scalable, extensible and performant global trading platform. The role requires experience with a highly automated software development workflow as well as a containerized run-time environment. The ideal candidate collaborates effortlessly online and offline and practices data-driven code optimizations – with or without the help of AI. Prior experience with order management systems (OMS) or low-latency applications is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement and deploy enhancements to electronic trading platform.
Support and optimize what you and your colleagues have built.
Collaborate with software engineers in other time zones.
Reduce toil and repetitive tasks by automation.

Requirements:

10+ years of hands-on software engineering of low-latency or real-time systems.
Excellent Java proficiency required, including concurrency, tuning, and memory management.
Good command of Linux/UNIX command line interface.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred, but not required:

Using agentic AI for software maintenance.
Experience with container runtimes (Podman, Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Familiarity with message passing systems such as Kafka and Aeron.
Practicing data-driven optimizations (profiling, metrics collection).
Working-knowledge of CI/CD techniques.

We offer:

A multinational organization with 58 offices in 22 countries and the possibility to work abroad.
15 days (3 weeks) of paid annual leave plus an additional 10 days of personal leave (floating days and sick days).
A comprehensive insurance plan including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability.
Flexible hybrid policy.
RRSP with employer’s contribution up to 4%.
A higher education certification policy.
On-demand Udemy for Business for all Synechron employees with free access to more than 5000 curated courses.
Coaching opportunities with experienced colleagues from our Financial Innovation Labs (FinLabs) and Center of Excellences (CoE) groups.
Cutting edge projects at the world’s leading tier-one banks, financial institutions and insurance firms.
A truly diverse, fun-loving and global work culture.
