Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to define scope and requirements
- Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and internal stakeholders
- Develop and submit bids and proposals within strict deadlines
- Track and incorporate addendums, revisions, and scope changes into estimates
- Maintain awareness of market pricing, construction methods, and industry trends
- Support project handoff to operations teams post-award
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and accuracy
- Assist with additional pre-construction tasks as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2-3+ years of experience in construction estimating
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in estimating software and digital takeoff tools
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving capabilities
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and priorities simultaneously
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Valid driver's licence
- Experience working with subcontractors and supplier networks

Responsibilities
Prepare detailed construction cost estimates and bids by analyzing drawings, specifications, project documents, and supplier and subcontractor quotations. Coordinate with project stakeholders, incorporate project changes, support post-award handoffs, and improve estimating processes and accuracy.
Requirements
Requires 2–3 or more years of construction estimating experience, strong ability to interpret drawings and specifications, and proficiency with estimating software, digital takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office. Candidates should have strong analytical, numerical, communication, and coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple estimates and tight deadlines; post-secondary education in a related field and a valid driver's licence are preferred.
