About The Role

  • We are seeking an experienced Estimator / Senior Estimator with strong formwork and structural concrete estimating experience to join our estimating team.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience estimating concrete/formwork scopes on commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or bridge projects and be able to contribute technically from day one.
  • This is a hands-on, commercially focused role. We are looking for someone who can independently review drawings, complete detailed takeoffs, develop labour and productivity assumptions, identify constructability issues, prepare complete estimates, and build strong relationships with clients and General Contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze project opportunities, scope, schedules, risks, and pricing.
  • Independently review drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Prepare detailed estimates and quantity takeoffs for formwork and structural concrete.
  • Develop labour, material, equipment, and productivity assumptions.
  • Apply practical knowledge of formwork systems, sequencing, and constructability.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and tender proposals.
  • Manage RFQs and obtain pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Conduct site visits and collaborate with construction teams to confirm methodology.
  • Communicate directly with clients, General Contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Proactively follow up on bids and pursue new opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong industry relationships.
  • Participate in bid reviews and contribute to go/no-go decisions.
  • Contribute technical knowledge and help improve estimating processes.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of direct construction estimating experience, with strong formwork and structural concrete experience.
  • Experience with commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or bridge projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of formwork systems, labour productivity, sequencing, and constructability.
  • Ability to independently review drawings and prepare complete estimates.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PlanSwift, and Salesforce.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercially minded and proactive approach to pursuing opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
  • Important: Direct formwork and structural concrete estimating experience is the key requirement. Candidates with general construction estimating experience but limited exposure to formwork/concrete will be less aligned with this opportunity.

Paid vacation.

  • Career advancement and professional development opportunities.
  • Mileage reimbursement.
  • Flexible scheduling and work-life balance.
  • Casual, team-oriented work environment.
  • Employee appreciation events and social activities.
