We are seeking an Immigration Lawyer with 2+ years of post-call experience in Canadian immigration law to advise business, family, and individual clients. Experience in US immigration, employment, or business law is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Advise business, family, and individual clients on Canadian immigration matters, including strategic, compliance, and admissibility issues.
- Prepare and manage applications for LMIAs, work permits, permanent residence, citizenship, and admissibility matters.
- Stay current with federal and provincial immigration policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Work effectively with immigration paralegals and legal assistants.
- Manage client relationships through clear communication, accountability, and timely follow-up.
- Maintain accurate time records and meet billing expectations.
- Manage multiple client matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Contribute to business development and community initiatives.
- Collaborate on related legal matters, including US immigration, employment, or business law where applicable.
Qualifications
- LL.B. or J.D. degree.
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
- Minimum 2 years of post-call experience practicing Canadian immigration law.
- Strong knowledge or developing knowledge of federal and provincial immigration policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Highly organized, dependable, and performance-oriented.
- Adaptable and comfortable with technology, training, and process improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
