About The Opportunity

An established Vancouver Island construction company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead field operations across residential, commercial, light industrial, and civic construction projects.
This leadership role is ideal for someone with extensive site experience who excels at managing multiple projects, mentoring teams, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

Lead and oversee all field operations across multiple construction projects.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Site Superintendents on project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Monitor project performance, quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
Identify risks and implement practical solutions to keep projects on track.
Mentor and support field staff while fostering accountability and teamwork.

Client & Business Development

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners.
Represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities.

People Management

Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for field employees.
Resolve workplace conflicts and provide coaching to strengthen team performance.
Coordinate labour, equipment, and material resources across projects.

Qualifications

8+ years of construction industry experience, including operations or construction management.
5+ years as a Site Superintendent or in a senior field leadership role managing complex projects.
Strong knowledge of contracts, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, and construction documentation.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Experience with Procore, Sage, or similar construction software is an asset.
BCIT Technologist Diploma, bachelor's degree, or relevant trade/construction management education is preferred. PMP or other industry certifications are considered an asset.
