Court Technology Services (CTS) Applications, Data & AI Portfolio
Scope:
The CTS Applications, Data & AI team provides architecture leadership, application lifecycle management, business analysis, solution delivery oversight, data and AI enablement, and Application Management Services (AMS) governance across Alberta Courts. The team supports the modernization, enhancement, integration, and ongoing support of court applications and digital services while establishing common standards, reusable capabilities, and sustainable operating models across the portfolio
Duties:
The Senior Digital Architect will be required on a full-time basis (7.25-hour workday), working across multiple applications, projects, operational initiatives, and strategic technology priorities. Services and project deliverables should evolve as the work progresses in response to emerging business needs, operational priorities, technical opportunities, and modernization objectives.
However, the following must be delivered (iteratively) over the course of the engagement:
• Lead solution and enterprise architecture activities
• Guide the implementation and support of digital services
• Lead business and systems analysis activities
• Support Application Management Services (AMS) and operational excellence
• Contribute to architecture governance and standards development
• Support vendor, procurement, and delivery oversight
• Support data, analytics, and AI initiatives
• Communicate technical information effectively
• Continuously improve the CTS architecture and delivery practice
Mandatory Qualifications: (Must have Minimum 8 years of all of the following)
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science
- Certification in The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional agile product teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring developers and technical leads.
- Experience architecting, managing, and maintaining Azure Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
- Experience identifying and assessing requirements within multiple architecture domains e.g. business, application, technology, data/information, security, and privacy.
- Experience in documenting application architectures in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
- Experience in planning, designing, implementing and supporting platform solutions in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
- Experience providing leadership, planning, estimating, and presentations of ideas and solutions.
- Collaborate with data architects, engineers and analysts to design and optimize cloud architecture and services.
- Experience in contributing or developing application architecture standards and guidelines.
- Experience working as an application architect designing or maintaining solutions that use enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) hub architecture registries.
- Experience working as an application architect developing a solution using amCharts charting framework in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
- Experience working as an application architect developing mobile solutions in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
- Experience working with Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Top Ten Web Application Security Flaws.
Location:
Work will be performed onsite at the Court Technology Services (CTS) office in Edmonton, located in either the John E. Brownlee Building or First & Jasper Place, as operationally required. It is anticipated the role will be 100% onsite.
Standard hours of work are 08:15 - 16:30 MT, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays observed by the Province.

- The expectation will be for the resource to work from the office 5 days a Week
Term:
- This is a 3 year term with the possibility of a 24 month extension
Estimated Start Date: OCT 2026
Estimated End Date: SEPT 2029
Possible Extension: 2 x 12 months
Rate Range: $117 - $141/hr
