JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose

This position handles raw material and finish products, and it is a physically demanding role with repetitive grading, cutting and packing in production area. Depending on the working station, may require transporting product in production area, operate food processing machinery and assisting product change over

Role - Fix-term 5 months contract

Pay - $ 19.30/hr

Responsibilities

• Grade and process raw material including but limited to cutting, peeling, and trimming.   
•  Mix and pack product into bag, tray, and box.
•  Vigilantly monitor product quality.
• Collaborate in and execute product changeovers (clean breaks) at various workstations.       
• Support the supervisor in preparing production records.       
• Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.       
• Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.       
• Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.       
• Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to  their Supervisor.      
• Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience working in a food manufacturing or warehouse considered an asset

Physical Demands

• Reasonable accommodations will be taken where necessary
• Repetitive process raw material, mix product, and pack product (70%).
• Repetitive lift 30 lb (20%).
• Product changeover and organize product includes transportation by pallet jack and rolling rack in production area (10%).
• Noisy environment, hearing protection provided.
• Cool environment (4 to 7 degrees Celsius, 100%)
• May require operating food processing machinery and sealing machinery.
