We are Systematix and we are currently seeking a DevSecOps Specialist for an opportunity with a public sector client. The ideal candidate must hold an active Government of Canada Secret (Level II) security clearance. This is a 1-year hybrid contract role requiring up to 12 days on-site per month, expected to start in November 2026.
About the Responsibilities
- Develop scripts and pipelines required in release processes, managing environments and deployment.
- Resolve and support the resolution of complex operational issues by leveraging advanced expertise in the underlying business applications and associated infrastructure.
- Develop and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational excellence through automation and the adoption of appropriate tools and best practices.
- Contribute technical expertise within the scrum teams by supporting the resolution of technical issues and sharing knowledge with team members.
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Advanced Security and Nexus to support continuous integration, testing, security and deployment processes.
- Related activities and deliverable, as required.
About the Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma in computer science, or software development.
- A minimum of 7 years of Quality Assurance (QA) experience developing scripts or automation solutions for application releases, environment management, and deployments.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience implementing and supporting DevSecOps and CI/CD practices, including source code version control, artifact repository management, automated build processes, and deployment pipelines within enterprise environments.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience developing, maintaining, and improving automated build, test, security, and deployment pipelines.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and solutions.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience troubleshooting and resolving complex operational issues involving business applications and their supporting infrastructure.
- Knowledge of managing configurations through YAML, Kustomize and Helm.
- Knowledge of application authentication and certificate management.
- Experience working with privileged access management and certificate lifecycle management tools such as CyberArk and AppViewX.
- Experience working with messaging and integration platforms, including AMQ and Spring Integration.
- Knowledge of SQL, Java, Unix scripting, and Node.js.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Nexus, Jenkins, Tekton, Argo CD, Azure Container Registry, and Azure DevOps.

Pay Disclosure
The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:
- Junior: 0–5 years of experience - $40-75/hr
- Intermediate: 6–9 years of experience - $60-100/hr
- Senior: 10+ years of experience - $90-150/hr
Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.
