Original job description

We are Systematix and we are currently seeking a DevSecOps Specialist for an opportunity with a public sector client. The ideal candidate must hold an active Government of Canada Secret (Level II) security clearance. This is a 1-year hybrid contract role requiring up to 12 days on-site per month, expected to start in November 2026.

About the Responsibilities

Develop scripts and pipelines required in release processes, managing environments and deployment.
Resolve and support the resolution of complex operational issues by leveraging advanced expertise in the underlying business applications and associated infrastructure.
Develop and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational excellence through automation and the adoption of appropriate tools and best practices.
Contribute technical expertise within the scrum teams by supporting the resolution of technical issues and sharing knowledge with team members.
Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Advanced Security and Nexus to support continuous integration, testing, security and deployment processes.
Related activities and deliverable, as required.

About the Qualifications

University degree or college diploma in computer science, or software development.
A minimum of 7 years of Quality Assurance (QA) experience developing scripts or automation solutions for application releases, environment management, and deployments.
A minimum of 7 years of experience implementing and supporting DevSecOps and CI/CD practices, including source code version control, artifact repository management, automated build processes, and deployment pipelines within enterprise environments.
A minimum of 5 years of experience developing, maintaining, and improving automated build, test, security, and deployment pipelines.
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and solutions.
A minimum of 3 years of experience troubleshooting and resolving complex operational issues involving business applications and their supporting infrastructure.
Knowledge of managing configurations through YAML, Kustomize and Helm.
Knowledge of application authentication and certificate management.
Experience working with privileged access management and certificate lifecycle management tools such as CyberArk and AppViewX.
Experience working with messaging and integration platforms, including AMQ and Spring Integration.
Knowledge of SQL, Java, Unix scripting, and Node.js.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Nexus, Jenkins, Tekton, Argo CD, Azure Container Registry, and Azure DevOps.

Candidates must outline in detail how they meet the above requirements.

Pay Disclosure

The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:

Junior: 0–5 years of experience - $40-75/hr
Intermediate: 6–9 years of experience - $60-100/hr
Senior: 10+ years of experience - $90-150/hr

Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.
