Senior IT Project Manager – Identity & Access Migration

We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Senior IT Project Manager – Identity & Access Migration to lead complex enterprise identity migration initiatives for one of our global Life Sciences and Technology partners.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Our client is a global leader in science and technology, operating across a diverse network of businesses and geographically distributed technology environments. As part of ongoing enterprise transformation initiatives, the organization is working to standardize and simplify key business and technology capabilities across its global operations.

The Senior IT Project Manager will lead large-scale, complex identity and access migration workstreams required to support these initiatives. This includes understanding how users, applications, identities, access permissions, infrastructure, and services operate across organizational boundaries and ensuring successful transitions to future-state identity and access models.

Working within an established enterprise project management framework, the successful candidate will drive delivery from initial discovery and assessment through migration planning, implementation, validation, adoption, and operational handover.

This role is specifically focused on managing complex identity and access migrations rather than the broader business centralization projects. The successful candidate must bring strong technical awareness, excellent stakeholder management capabilities, and the ability to independently drive complex, cross-functional initiatives to completion.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) migration initiatives.
• Manage identity and access migration workstreams supporting enterprise transformation and organizational change.
• Drive discovery and assessment activities to understand existing identity environments, user populations, applications, access requirements, and technical dependencies.
• Work with application owners, IAM specialists, infrastructure teams, security teams, and business stakeholders to define migration scope, requirements, and implementation approaches.
• Develop comprehensive migration plans, schedules, milestones, resource requirements, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Coordinate the assessment of application authentication, authorization, access provisioning, and identity-related integrations.
• Identify and manage dependencies between identity platforms, enterprise applications, infrastructure, networking, and service operations.
• Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions, technical discussions, stakeholder meetings, and decision-making activities.
• Drive migration readiness activities, including stakeholder alignment, technical preparation, testing, validation, and operational planning.
• Coordinate migration execution, cutover planning, issue resolution, and post-migration stabilization.
• Proactively investigate issues, engage technical subject matter experts, and drive actions through to resolution.
• Maintain project governance, including schedules, RAID logs, status reporting, decision tracking, and executive communications.
• Identify and mitigate technical, operational, business, and delivery risks associated with complex identity migrations.
• Work across multiple business units, operating companies, geographic locations, and stakeholder groups to ensure coordinated execution.
• Support organizational change and stakeholder communications associated with identity and access transitions.
• Ensure migration outcomes align with enterprise security, access governance, and operational requirements.
• Coordinate successful handover of migrated services and solutions to established support and operational teams.
• Capture lessons learned and contribute to repeatable approaches, documentation, and best practices for future identity migration initiatives.

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

• Significant experience managing complex enterprise IT projects and technology migration initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience leading Identity and Access Management, identity migration, access transformation, or closely related enterprise infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of enterprise identity and access concepts, including authentication, authorization, user provisioning, access management, and identity lifecycle processes.
• Experience managing migrations involving multiple applications, business units, technical platforms, and stakeholder groups.
• Strong understanding of enterprise applications, infrastructure, networking, and IT service delivery.
• Experience leading technical discovery, application assessments, requirements gathering, process analysis, and dependency identification.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within highly matrixed, geographically distributed enterprise environments.
• Strong project planning, governance, RAID management, reporting, and executive communication capabilities.
• Experience coordinating technical teams through migration planning, implementation, testing, cutover, and operational transition.
• Ability to independently investigate issues, engage technical SMEs, identify dependencies, and drive complex problems to resolution.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across business, technology, security, vendor, and operational teams.
• Experience supporting organizational transformation, technology consolidation, or enterprise migration initiatives.
• Excellent facilitation, influencing, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous or complex situations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach to project delivery, with strong ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing large-scale Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, or enterprise IAM migration initiatives.
• Familiarity with identity federation, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and modern authentication technologies.
• Experience with identity migrations involving mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, or organizational restructuring.
• Experience supporting application discovery and remediation associated with identity platform changes.
• Understanding of Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and enterprise access governance.
• Experience coordinating migrations across multiple identity domains, application environments, or business entities.
• Experience supporting global enterprise transformation initiatives within complex, federated organizations.
• Familiarity with ITIL, change management, and operational service transition practices.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience working within regulated industries such as life sciences, healthcare, or financial services.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an initial 6-month contract opportunity, with the potential for extension based on ongoing business requirements.

The successful candidate must be available to work Eastern Time Zone business hours and collaborate effectively with geographically distributed technical teams and business stakeholders.

This is a senior, hands-on project management role requiring someone who can navigate complex technical environments, lead discovery and migration planning, coordinate execution, and drive successful delivery across multiple business units.

While a strong understanding of enterprise transformation is important, the primary focus of this position is the successful delivery of large-scale identity and access migrations, rather than management of the broader organizational centralization initiatives.
