This opportunity is part of Systemex Industrial Consulting (SIC). SIC partners with organizations across the mining, manufacturing, energy, and industrial sectors to improve operational performance throughout the entire asset lifecycle.

Our multidisciplinary teams support clients in operational readiness, commissioning, start-up, ramp-up, maintenance and reliability, asset management, workforce solutions, and continuous improvement. We don't simply develop strategies; we work alongside our clients to successfully implement them.

As the Intermediate Engineer – Process Performance and Operational Readiness you will support optimization, operational readiness, start-up, and performance improvement projects in the mineral processing and extractive metallurgy sectors.

Reporting to the Director, Process Performance and Optimization and working closely with senior engineers, you will contribute to technical audits, performance analyses, operational readiness plans, test campaigns, and the development of tools and methodologies that improve industrial facility performance, while collaborating with client-site teams across operations, maintenance, engineering, automation, and commissioning as needed.

Responsibilities

Participate in performance audits of mineral processing plants, including process data analysis, mass, water, and metallurgical balances.
Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), performance dashboards, and statistical process data to support informed decision-making.
Identify process improvement opportunities, reduce operational variability, and contribute to circuit stability, process stabilization, and performance improvement studies.
Support industrial tests, sampling campaigns, performance testing, start-up, ramp-up, and operations performance reviews.
Participate in the development and audit of operational readiness plans, including ORP audits, organizational readiness assessments, and client workshops.
Contribute to the development of SOPs, operational documentation, training plans, and competency matrices.
Collaborate with automation teams to improve process control strategies, optimize operating parameters, and adjust setpoints.
Develop audit methodologies, analysis tools, technical reports, presentations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of Systemex practices and tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical, chemical, process, mining engineering, or a related discipline; member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for membership.
5 to 10 years of experience in mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, or industrial processes, including the operation, optimization, commissioning, or continuous improvement of industrial facilities; Operational Readiness experience is an asset.
Good knowledge of mineral processing, mass balances, data analysis, and performance indicators.
Excellent communication, technical writing, and teamwork skills.
Availability for regular travel to industrial and mining sites, with a strong commitment to health, safety, and the environment (HSE) and a proactive approach to safe interventions aligned with best practices.
Proficiency in French is mandatory. Proficiency in English is also required in order to communicate effectively with internal clients and partners located outside of Quebec.

À titre d’ingénieur(e) intermédiaire – performance des procédés et préparation opérationnelle, vous soutiendrez des projets d’optimisation, de préparation opérationnelle, de démarrage et d’amélioration de la performance dans les secteurs du traitement des minerais et de la métallurgie extractive.

Relevant de la direction, Performance des procédés et optimisation, et en étroite collaboration avec les ingénieur(e)s sénior(e)s, vous contribuerez aux audits techniques, aux analyses de performance, aux plans de préparation opérationnelle, aux campagnes d’essais ainsi qu’au développement d’outils et de méthodologies visant à améliorer la performance des installations industrielles, tout en collaborant avec les équipes sur les sites clients en opérations, maintenance, ingénierie, automatisation et mise en service, au besoin.

Responsabilités

Participer aux audits de performance d’usines de traitement des minerais, incluant l’analyse de données de procédé ainsi que les bilans de masse, d’eau et métallurgiques.
Développer, suivre et analyser les indicateurs clés de performance (KPI), les tableaux de bord de performance et les données statistiques de procédé afin d’appuyer la prise de décision.
Identifier les occasions d’amélioration des procédés, réduire la variabilité opérationnelle et contribuer aux études de stabilité des circuits, de stabilisation des procédés et d’amélioration de la performance.
Soutenir les essais industriels, les campagnes d’échantillonnage, les tests de performance, les activités de démarrage, de montée en régime et les revues de performance opérationnelle.
Participer au développement et à l’audit de plans de préparation opérationnelle, incluant les audits ORP, les évaluations de la préparation organisationnelle et les ateliers avec la clientèle.
Contribuer au développement de procédures opérationnelles normalisées (SOP), de documentation opérationnelle, de plans de formation et de matrices de compétences.
Collaborer avec les équipes d’automatisation afin d’améliorer les stratégies de contrôle des procédés, d’optimiser les paramètres d’opération et d’ajuster les points de consigne.
Développer des méthodologies d’audit, des outils d’analyse, des rapports techniques et des présentations, et contribuer à l’amélioration continue des pratiques et outils de Systemex.

Qualifications

Baccalauréat en génie métallurgique, chimique, des procédés, minier ou dans une discipline connexe; membre de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) ou admissible à le devenir.
5 à 10 ans d’expérience en traitement des minerais, métallurgie extractive ou procédés industriels, incluant l’opération, l’optimisation, la mise en service ou l’amélioration continue d’installations industrielles; une expérience en préparation opérationnelle est un atout.
Bonne connaissance du traitement des minerais, des bilans de masse, de l’analyse de données et des indicateurs de performance.
Excellentes aptitudes en communication, rédaction technique et travail d’équipe, avec une maîtrise du français et une bonne connaissance de l’anglais.
Disponibilité pour des déplacements réguliers sur des sites industriels et miniers, avec un fort engagement envers la santé, la sécurité et l’environnement (SSE) ainsi qu’une approche proactive favorisant des interventions sécuritaires alignées sur les meilleures pratiques.
