Our multidisciplinary teams support clients in operational readiness, commissioning, start-up, ramp-up, maintenance and reliability, asset management, workforce solutions, and continuous improvement. We don't simply develop strategies; we work alongside our clients to successfully implement them.

Join Systemex as a Senior Engineer – Process Performance & Operational Readiness, acting as a technical advisor to mining and mineral processing clients. You will support operations from pre-startup through commissioning, ramp-up, stabilization, and optimization to nameplate performance, ensuring safe, reliable, and high-performing plants.

Reporting to the Director, Process Performance and Optimization, you will contribute across operational readiness, technical audits, commissioning support, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Conduct plant performance audits and analyze operational data to identify losses, constraints, variability, and improvement opportunities.
Develop and track metallurgical and operational KPIs, including mass, water, and metallurgical balances, to improve recovery, throughput, stability, and energy efficiency.
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including recommendations, improvement roadmaps, and best practices deployment.
Develop and implement operational readiness frameworks, including gap analyses, organizational readiness assessments, closure plans, tracking indicators, and readiness tools.
Create SOPs, business processes, operational standards, training programs, and competency matrices to prepare teams for new or modified facilities.
Support start-up and ramp-up activities, including commissioning planning, performance and acceptance testing, circuit stabilization, daily performance reviews, and constraint identification.
Collaborate with automation and control teams to optimize process control strategies, operating parameters, setpoints, dashboards, statistical analysis, and reduce variability.
Conduct technical audits and maturity/risk assessments, prepare reports and executive presentations, facilitate client workshops, and contribute to technical proposals, tools, standards, and Systemex methodologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, Process, Mining Engineering, or related field; OIQ member or eligible.
10+ years of experience in mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, or industrial operations, including commissioning, ramp-up, or plant optimization.
Experience in operational readiness, procedure development, training, operational preparation, or risk management.
Strong expertise in mass balances, process data analysis, KPIs, and continuous improvement methods (Lean Six Sigma, PDCA, RCA, FMEA).
Strong communication, technical writing, facilitation, and client-facing skills, with willingness to travel;
Proficiency in English is also required in order to communicate effectively with internal clients and partners located outside of Quebec.

Rejoignez Systemex à titre d’ingénieur(e) sénior – Performance des procédés et préparation opérationnelle, et agissez comme conseiller·ère technique auprès de clientèles du secteur minier et du traitement des minerais. Vous contribuerez à accompagner les opérations, de la phase de préparation au démarrage jusqu’à la mise en service, la montée en cadence, la stabilisation et l’optimisation des installations, afin d’atteindre leur capacité nominale tout en assurant des opérations sécuritaires, fiables et performantes.

Relevant de la direction, Performance des procédés et optimisation, vous contribuerez à des mandats liés à la préparation opérationnelle, aux audits techniques, à la mise en service, à l’optimisation des procédés et à l’amélioration continue.

Responsabilités

Réaliser des audits de performance des installations et analyser les données opérationnelles afin d’identifier les pertes, contraintes, sources de variabilité et occasions d’amélioration.
Développer et suivre des indicateurs de performance (KPI) métallurgiques et opérationnels, notamment les bilans de masse, d’eau et métallurgiques, afin d’améliorer la récupération, le débit, la stabilité des procédés et l’efficacité énergétique.
Diriger et soutenir des initiatives d’amélioration continue, notamment l’élaboration de recommandations, de feuilles de route et le déploiement de meilleures pratiques.
Développer et mettre en œuvre des cadres de préparation opérationnelle, incluant les analyses d’écarts, les évaluations de préparation organisationnelle, les plans de fermeture des écarts, les indicateurs de suivi et les outils de préparation.
Élaborer des procédures opérationnelles normalisées (SOP), processus d’affaires, normes opérationnelles, programmes de formation et matrices de compétences afin de préparer les équipes à l’exploitation de nouvelles installations ou d’installations modifiées.
Soutenir les activités de démarrage et de montée en cadence, notamment la planification de la mise en service, les essais de performance et d’acceptation, la stabilisation des circuits, les revues quotidiennes de performance et l’identification des contraintes.
Collaborer avec les équipes d’automatisation et de contrôle afin d’optimiser les stratégies de contrôle des procédés, les paramètres d’exploitation, les points de consigne, les tableaux de bord et les analyses statistiques, tout en réduisant la variabilité.
Réaliser des audits techniques et des évaluations de maturité et de risques, préparer des rapports et présentations destinés aux équipes de direction, animer des ateliers avec la clientèle et contribuer aux propositions techniques, outils, normes et méthodologies de Systemex.

Qualifications

Baccalauréat en génie métallurgique, chimique, des procédés, minier ou dans un domaine connexe; membre de l’OIQ ou admissible à le devenir.
10 ans et plus d’expérience en traitement des minerais, métallurgie extractive ou opérations industrielles, incluant des projets de mise en service, de montée en cadence ou d’optimisation d’installations.
Expérience en préparation opérationnelle, développement de procédures, formation, préparation des opérations ou gestion des risques.
Solide expertise en bilans de masse, analyse de données de procédés, KPI et méthodes d’amélioration continue (Lean Six Sigma, PDCA, RCA, FMEA).
Excellentes aptitudes en communication, rédaction technique, animation d’ateliers et relations avec la clientèle, ainsi qu’une grande disponibilité pour des déplacements.
La maîtrise du français et de l’anglais est requise afin de communiquer efficacement avec les clientèles internes et les partenaires situés à l’extérieur du Québec.
