Context

As a member of the Cadence consortium, SYSTRA Canada is contributing its expertise to ALTO, the high-speed rail project connecting Quebec City and Toronto.

One of Canada’s most ambitious and transformative infrastructure projects, ALTO is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reshape how Canadians connect and travel, while creating a lasting legacy for the country.

About Cadence

The Cadence consortium, comprising CDPQ Infra, AtkinsRéalis, SYSTRA Canada, Keolis Canada, Air Canada and SNCF Voyageurs, was selected by the Canadian government to develop the project. Together, these organizations bring extensive expertise in transportation and infrastructure to advance the development of a modern high-speed rail network in Canada.

As the ALTO project moves forward and our teams continue to grow, SYSTRA Canada is looking for a talented and passionate [Position Title] to join our team and contribute to this landmark project.

Review engineering drawings, calculations, reports, specifications, and tender documents to verify their technical quality, completeness, constructability, and compliance with municipal requirements.
Apply municipal standards and guidelines, establish design criteria and technical requirements, and support permitting, approvals, and responses to review comments.
Coordinate reviews with municipalities, utility owners, and project stakeholders; integrate utility designs with roads, drainage, structures, stations, railways, and other disciplines.
Identify design, approval, interface, and construction risks; recommend mitigation measures; and mentor junior and intermediate engineers.

Profile/Skills

Experience coordinating with municipalities, utility owners, and multidisciplinary project teams;
Experience on major infrastructure, public transit, transportation, or urban development projects is an asset;
Familiarity with CAD and 3D design environments;
Strong oral and written communication skills in both French and English.*
Reason for the bilingualism requirement : You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele, including French- and English-speaking companies. Bilingualism is therefore essential to building strong client relationships, understanding their specific needs, and communicating effectively in their preferred language.

Interpersonal Skills

Sound technical judgment in the design of municipal water distribution, sanitary sewer, and stormwater systems;
Ability to lead design reviews and provide clear, actionable technical direction;
Practical understanding of constructability, construction staging, and integration with existing infrastructure;
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to municipal stakeholders and
other project participants;
Effective leadership, collaboration, and mentoring skills;
