About us
Taeron Systems Inc. designs and manufactures its own aviation products, primarily for the helicopter industry, from a hangar at YVR. Design, engineering, and machining are under one roof. We are always developing new products and improving existing ones, and we make them in house.
Where we are going
We are growing our production capacity and adding to the range of products we make. Our processes are constantly being improved, and we plan to keep adding machines and automation. We want a machinist who wants to get the most out of the equipment and grow with the company.
The role
You will start on our Haas VF-2 mill or DS-30Y lathe, running Taeron parts with help from the production manager. You will be working with Fusion 360 CAM from the start.
Once you are fully on top of your machine and your workload, there is no ceiling on what you can take on. High performers can expand into purchasing, scheduling, process improvement and training. The pace is set by you.
What you will do
- Program (Fusion 360 CAM), set up, run, and inspect parts
- Design and build repeatable processes: modelling in Fusion 360, fixturing, tool libraries, setup sheets, proven programs, CAM automation
- Reduce cycle time, setup time, and scrap, and push toward unattended running
- Use probing, macros, tool management, and automation to get the most out of each machine
- Complete inspection and traceability records
- Work directly with engineering to improve parts, processes, and manufacturing systems
- Maintain machines, tooling, and coolant
What you can grow into
- Scheduling production
- Training and mentoring other machinists
- Ordering tooling and materials
- Specifying and commissioning new machines
Who we are looking for
A high-achieving individual who wants to build their skills and see their ideas put to use. If you have most of this, or a different mix you think fits, apply and tell us why.
- [3+] years setting up and running CNC mills and/or lathes, Haas NGC experience an asset
- CAM programming experience, Fusion 360 preferred
- Proven ability to manufacture to drawing tolerances and read GD&T
- Comfortable with standard metrology
- Machinist ticket, machining or mechanical engineering technology diploma, or equivalent experience
- Experience under a QA program with documentation requirements (aerospace, medical, or similar is an asset)
- Interest in automation: probing, macro programming, pallet systems, unattended machining
- Process-minded: when something goes wrong, you fix the cause, not just the part
- You want ownership and responsibility, not just a list of jobs
Also part of the job
We are a small team and everyone covers gaps: some assembly, finishing, testing, and shipping when the schedule calls for it.
